BFSHOW wins award at the 2025 Prêmio Caio

The exponential growth of BFSHOW — which, in just two years, has already consolidated itself as The biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America — was recognized at the 2025 Prêmio Caio. Created in 1999, the award featured more than 2,000 entries and is considered the “Oscars of Events.” The ceremony took place on the evening of December 8 at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo, Brazil.

The trade show was a finalist alongside competitors such as VTEX Day, Feicon, and APAS Show in the B2B Trade Shows category. The award-winning case relates to BFSHOW’s exponential growth, whose fourth edition took place from May 19 to 21, 2025. With 353 Brazilian footwear brands across a 12.4-thousand-square-meter area at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo, Brazil, the trade show welcomed 12,339 visitors—more than 10% of them international, from all five continents. “This impressive performance represented growth of more than 140% in the number of exhibitors, 124% in occupied area, and 143% in attendance compared to its inaugural edition, in November 2023,” says the trade show’s head at NürnbergMesse Brazil, Felipe Marchioni.

Strategic event
Letícia Sperb Masselli, Relationship and Business Manager at the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), emphasizes that with each new edition, BFSHOW continues to strengthen its position as a strategic showcase for Brazilian footwear—focused on results, a qualified audience, and an enhanced experience. “With the goal of becoming the industry’s leading event—featuring a professional operation, management carried out jointly with business leaders, and a trade show designed for efficient visits by retailers and international buyers—the event has become a benchmark for launches and business for the domestic industry, and a milestone on the international footwear calendar,” she says.

The trade show
Held by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and organized by NürnbergMesse Brazil, BFSHOW will hold its sixth edition from May 18 to 20, 2026, at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo, Brazil.

BFSHOW Arena showcases the power of content in footwear sales

In a market increasingly driven by the speed of information and new forms of consumption, the BFSHOW Arena has established itself as one of the most important spaces at the trade show, bringing together specialists, content creators and industry leaders to discuss the paths of fashion and footwear in the digital age. At the 5th edition of BFSHOW, held November 10–12 at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo, the audience followed a program that addressed seasonal trends, the impact of TikTok Shop on the e-commerce revolution, the power of content as a sales driver, and even the strategic role of sales representatives in connecting industry and retail.

Kicking off the program at the space were Luana Lanzini and Luana Savadintzky, co-founders of Fashion Directions. With the talk “Trend Line: Bets and Inspirations of the Season,” the duo of specialists presented the Winter 26 Shopping Guide, made available by BFSHOW, and led an immersion into the colors, products and inspirations that will drive buyers’ decisions for Fall/Winter 26 and provide an early look at what is coming for Spring/Summer 26/27.

Next, Eric Chien, Head of Fashion, and Gabriela Cleim, Fashion Account Manager at TikTok Shop, presented the panel “From feed to sale: real stories of how content sells footwear on TikTok Shop.” The platform, which started in Asia and quickly expanded to several countries, has seen more than tenfold growth in the number of active monthly sellers. It has also become one of the main search tools among young consumers – averaging 4 million searches related to fashion per week.

Among the purchasing formats, standout features include short videos, livestreams, product showcases and the “shop tab,” which bring the entire sales funnel together in one place. “Technology has deeply influenced the way people shop. Today, content and sales blend together,” noted Gabriela Cleim. “On the platform, users are more likely to be the first to discover new products and trends, as they complete the entire purchase journey within the app itself,” added Eric Chien.

The panel also featured the participation of Mariana Santos, Head of Style and Fashion Buyer at Lumiss, and Rubem Xavier, CEO and founder of Armazém dos Chinelos. They shared their experiences as Brazilian brands on the platform and agreed that the secret lies in making the consumer’s shopping journey something fun. Rubem highlighted the impact of going viral on operations: “From one day to the next, you can have 4,000 additional orders to deliver. The key is having strong partners and suppliers who can keep up with the pace.” Mariana, in turn, emphasized the value of authenticity: “One video sells more than a perfect photo. Consumers want to see what’s real, they want to feel part of the community.”

Content that inspires and converts
On the second day of talks, Steal The Look, one of the largest shoppable fashion content platforms in Brazil, presented the panel “How to inspire, connect and sell through content.” Laís Miranda, People and Education Coordinator at the brand, showed how content is the main link between inspiration and conversion. According to her, 83% of TikTok users have already purchased something they discovered on the platform, and 87% of Instagram users take some action after viewing fashion content.

For the footwear sector, the potential is even greater: the average conversion rate in footwear e-commerce is higher than in segments such as beauty and gaming. “We read market movements and translate them for our audience in a didactic and agile way, and that’s how we’ve realized that content is what makes a brand be remembered before the purchase and chosen at the moment of purchase,” Miranda emphasized, highlighting the importance of combining storytelling with real-time trend analysis.

According to the specialist, the trend bets being tracked for Fall/Winter 2026 include cow-print animal patterns, berry tones, revisited classics (such as blazers, pumps and loafers), and earthy browns, which remain on the rise.

The power of presence
Closing the program, Ricardo Prado, mentor for sales representatives and founder of R8 Educação, delivered the talk “The link that moves the market: how to align industry, sales reps and retail to turn relationships into results.”

With a career spanning decades in the sector, Prado highlighted the role of the sales representative as a vital link between industry and retail and warned about the risk of losing in-person connection in an increasingly digital market.

“Retail is overwhelmed by new platforms and trends. Technology does not replace the sales representative, it only transforms their role. Those who are still working as they did in 2019 are being left behind – the differentiator now is knowing how to use the time we’ve gained to our advantage and not giving up direct contact with the customer,” he said. For the mentor, the sector’s future depends on clear commercial leadership, real technological integration and the formation of strategic partnerships. “When industry, sales representatives and retail grow together, the market explodes,” he concluded.

BFSHOW closes with record international attendance

The 5th edition of BFSHOW, The biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America, held November 10–12 at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo/SP, closed with a record number of international visitors. According to data compiled by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brazil, partners in promoting and organizing the event, more than 10 thousand buyers attended over the three days, 13% of them (1,300) coming from 46 countries.

With around 350 Brazilian brands gathered in a total area of more than 25.5 thousand square meters, BFSHOW has established itself among the leading trade shows for the footwear sector worldwide. According to the Executive President of the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), Haroldo Ferreira, the trade show reflected the current moment of the Brazilian footwear industry, which is expected to grow up to 1.4% in 2025, surpassing 940 million pairs produced. “BFSHOW indicates that we should see a recovery in the last quarter, with production growth of more than 2%, closing the year on a positive note,” explains the executive.

International attendance at the event exceeded expectations, especially considering the challenging global scenario. “We had a strong presence of importers, mainly from Latin America, as well as from countries in the Middle East, Africa and even Oceania,” celebrates Ferreira, noting that alternative markets have helped soften the challenges faced in exports to the United States, the main international destination for Brazilian footwear.

Buyer Program
Domestic and international attendance at the event was boosted by the BFSHOW Buyer Program, which brought 520 domestic buyers and 165 international buyers from 32 countries. João Paulo Picolo, CEO of NürnbergMesse Brazil, explains that the investment attracted importers selected based on their purchasing potential and market reach, as part of a strategy to diversify destinations. “The feedback has been positive, especially regarding the quality of the buyers in attendance, who did not come only to network; they came ready to place orders and build partnerships,” he emphasizes. feedbacks são positivos, principalmente pela qualidade dos compradores presentes, que não vieram apenas para relacionamento, compareceram para efetivar compras e parcerias”, destaca.

Exhibitors
Ricardo Terêncio, marketing coordinator at Rafarillo, from Franca/SP, says that both the traffic and the quality of buyers exceeded the brand’s expectations. “Because it is a November trade show, we were not expecting such a high level of attendance. We welcomed customers who had not bought from Rafarillo for many years. It was a very positive participation.” According to him, business was done with both the domestic and international markets. “The international market has improved significantly in recent months, and here we were able to confirm this positive momentum,” he adds.

For Marcelo Silva, marketing manager at Kidy, from Birigui/SP, BFSHOW has “raised the bar for Brazilian footwear” by showcasing, in a single venue, the very best of the national industry. “For Kidy specifically, the trade show helps us validate new projects, in addition to closing important deals with domestic and international buyers,” he says. According to him, during this edition the booth received highly qualified traffic, with visitors especially interested in the launch of the Tênis Localize, unveiled during BFSHOW.

Emphasizing the opportunity to strengthen relationships, especially with strategic partners in both the domestic and international markets, Piccadilly, from Igrejinha/RS, welcomed a large flow of clients. “We received a highly qualified audience, especially during the appearance of our brand ambassador, Carolina Dieckmann, on the second day of the event. This outcome reflects consistent work and the strong engagement of the public with our Fall-Winter 26 collection,” points out Cristine Grings Nogueira, the company’s CEO.

Lojistas
Participating in BFSHOW since its first edition, the traditional Ajita Calçados, which has more than 20 stores in Paraná in addition to other businesses, uses the trade show to confirm the trends that will be featured in shop windows in the coming seasons. According to the chain’s Administrative Director, Eduardo Ajita, the current moment of the Brazilian market, with lower retail consumption and stronger competition, especially from e-commerce platforms, makes BFSHOW “essential.” “It is here that we are able to build a well-targeted collection for a consumer who is increasingly selective and demanding. At BFSHOW, we have all the leading brands together, including more exclusive products, which have been our focus in the women’s collection,” he says.

Sapataria Avenida, which operates an exclusive store in Barreiras/BA, placed its entire Winter collection order at BFSHOW. “Before the trade show, we prepare to purchase all the footwear for our Winter collection here, because this is where we find the variety we need for our product mix,” says Jonas Francisco de Azevedo, managing partner of the store. According to him, the organization of the trade show makes the retailer’s experience stand out. “BFSHOW is very well thought out, from the easy access, since it takes place in São Paulo, to the segmentation by product type, which optimizes the time we spend visiting and gives us greater peace of mind to do business,” Azevedo comments.

International presence
With five stores focused on the men’s market, Pablo Vega, Import Manager at Ferratti stores, in Ecuador, attended the event for the fourth time. “Today, if you work in the footwear market, you have to come to BFSHOW. I really enjoyed the trade show, which featured a wide variety of brands and was very well organized. We also took the opportunity to meet new suppliers and close deals,” says Vega, noting that technology, comfort, quality, and delivery times are some of the key differentiators of footwear “made in Brazil.” The international buyer has been working with Brazilian companies for 24 years.

On the calendar
The next edition of BFSHOW is already scheduled. The biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America will present the Brazilian industry’s Spring/Summer collections from May 18–20, 2026, once again at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo/Brazil.

Footwear industry projects a positive outlook during BFSHOW

The 5th edition of BFSHOW, held at the Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo/SP from November 10 to 12, brings positive expectations for the footwear industry. During the trade show’s press conference, held on the 11th, industry leaders and entrepreneurs shared growth projections, even in the face of a challenging economic environment.

The Executive President of the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), Haroldo Ferreira, opened the event by highlighting the footwear industry’s growth outlook. According to him, even amid a challenging scenario, output is expected to increase by up to 1.4% in 2025, surpassing 940 million pairs produced. “In the last quarter alone, with the results from BFSHOW, we estimate growth close to 3%,” he noted. From January to August, according to IBGE data, production fell 1.6% compared to the same period last year—a decline that should be offset by growth in the final months of the year.

Export data, which came as a positive surprise for the industry, was also revealed first-hand during the press conference. According to figures compiled by Abicalçados, from January to October exports totaled 87.3 million pairs and US$819.4 million, representing a 7.5% increase in volume and a 1% decline in value compared to the same period last year. In October alone, exports grew in volume (+10.4%) but dropped in value (-9.1%) compared to the same month in 2024. Ferreira explained that the challenges of exporting to the United States, due to the heavy tariffs on Brazilian products, have been mitigated by an increase in shipments to Latin American countries.

Challenges
Ferreira also outlined the main challenges faced by Brazil’s footwear industry, including the growing influx of footwear imports from Asia. “In the first ten months of 2025, imports increased by 23.8% in value and 22.9% in volume compared to the same period last year. It is alarming that the pace of import growth is nearly 20 times higher than the expansion rate of the Brazilian domestic market,” he warned. The Executive President also emphasized the importance of implementing taxes (CID-BETs) on online betting and reinstating payroll tax relief.

Footwear industry strength
While uncertainties remain regarding the North American market, BFSHOW brings renewed optimism to the industry. Hosting importers from 62 countries—nearly 170 of whom were invited through the event’s Buyer Program—there is strong anticipation for business diversification. “BFSHOW is the biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America, playing a key role at this challenging time not only for exports, but also for the growth of the domestic market,” noted Picolo. The event is expected to welcome more than 10,000 Brazilian retailers from every state throughout its three days.

Investment in market diversification

Companies show optimism
At the trade show, most of the roughly 350 exhibiting brands are satisfied and optimistic about the business generated. During the press conference, Astor Ranft, President of Calçados Pegada (Dois Irmãos/RS), emphasized that the deals made at the event will be key to achieving the company’s projected 8% growth in production for 2025. “That has been our average growth over the past 15 years. Now we are entering new segments—beyond men’s footwear, the company is also producing women’s styles and, from now on, children’s as well—because we want to be the family’s footwear brand. We are also very optimistic about 2026,” he noted. With 6,500 direct jobs across its factories in Rio Grande do Sul and Bahia, Pegada created 1,000 new positions in 2025 alone.

Representing the Suzana Santos Group, the company’s Commercial and Creative Director, Suzana Santos, expressed her pride in representing the growing Footwear Local Productive Arrangement (LPA) of São João Batista/SC, now a national reference in women’s footwear production. “The first half of the year was slower, but we grew more than 10% in the second half. Today, BFSHOW is essential for the group’s business, generating new opportunities in both domestic and international markets,” she said.

Ricardo Campos, CEO of Polo GO from Nova Serrana/MG, emphasized that he has been attending trade shows for more than 20 years and has never experienced an industry event as effective as BFSHOW. “Last year, our revenue grew by 180%, largely due to our participation in this trade show,” he noted. According to the entrepreneur, holding BFSHOW in São Paulo—the economic capital of Latin America—has been crucial for strengthening Brazil’s footwear industry, making it easier for buyers from across the country and around the world to attend.

For Renato de Nardo, President of Cactus Shoes from Jaú/SP—who spoke at the press conference representing São Paulo’s Footwear Local Productive Arrangement (LPA)—companies in the region are “quite optimistic” about closing out a positive year, despite challenges in both domestic and international markets. “Cactus is a small company, and here at BFSHOW we have the opportunity to share the floor with industry giants, presenting our products to the world. It is a trade show that is essential to our business. With each edition, we grow around 10% in sales,” he said.

Claudio Taraborrelli, Head of Expansion at Pimpolho from Serra/ES, emphasized the importance of the footwear trade show, especially for opening new international markets, with a particular focus on Latin America. “BFSHOW is a great opportunity to connect our factories with buyers from all over Brazil and the world. We have high expectations for this edition,” he projected.

Held by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and organized by NürnbergMesse Brazil, BFSHOW runs through tomorrow, November 12, at the Anhembi District. Learn more: www.bfshow.com.br. www.bfshow.com.br.

BFSHOW Buyer Program will welcome 670 guests from Brazil and around the world at the 5th edition

Staged by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil, BFSHOW enters its fifth edition, reinforcing its global vocation and its strategic role in driving business across the footwear value chain. From November 10 to 12, at the Anhembi District venue in São Paulo/SP, the event will welcome 670 buyers (505 domestic and 165 international) invited by the Buyer Program, a BFSHOW initiative that aims to invite retailers and importers—selected in partnership with exhibitors—to discover and do business with the brands of the largest footwear industry in the West.

Among the invited Brazilian buyers, consolidated companies stand out as they look for strategic partners and innovation. Antonio Carlos Amorim, Purchasing Manager at Armazém Paraíba — a 45-store chain with a strong presence in Piauí, Maranhão, and Bahia — has taken part in the trade show since its first edition. “We look for suppliers that will also be partners in after-sales support. Retail is going through a challenging time, so we want fashion products at affordable prices, especially geared toward Holiday 2026 collections,” he says.

The executive also underscores the event’s networking potential: “BFSHOW is a unique opportunity for negotiations and connections in one of the world’s largest business hubs, with experiences and contacts with people from everywhere.”

Leandro Aparecido Del Bianco, owner of Dolce Store Calçados, a retail brand with two stores in Catanduva (SP), is also looking for opportunities: “We are always looking for new suppliers, with bold products that will help us sell more in our stores,” says the entrepreneur, who has visited the event since the beginning and will be at this edition. “When we take part in something at the scale of this trade show, we seek to be increasingly aligned with high-quality brands and with a higher average price point. That’s why it’s extremely important for us to stay attuned to what the event offers.”

International presence and new markets
The 163 importers invited by the Buyer Program come from 56 countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The trade show projects to receive around 12,000 visitors in total, with at least 10% of them from overseas.

Among the international guests is Puseletso Mwakalombe, CEO of Glamshoes Limited, Zambia, who is attending the event for the first time. With e-commerce operations focused on the Southern African market (a region comprising several countries in southern Africa), Mwakalombe is seeking premium, innovative products with an emphasis on comfort, sustainability, and design. “Consumers are more attentive to trends and comfort. In addition to footwear, I’m looking for accessories, digital retail solutions, trends, new technologies, and shopping experiences such as virtual stores,” she says.

Content and Services
And to serve visitors seeking not only strong business opportunities but also information and new ideas, BFSHOW will feature a series of talks at the Content Arena. Among them is “The Link That Drives the Market,” by Rodrigo Prado, a mentor to sales representatives who will bring a strategic view of how to align industry, representation, and retail to turn relationships into results. The session “From the Feed to the Sale: Real Stories of How Content Sells Footwear on TikTok Shop” will delve into the platform’s sales experience. The talk will be led by Eric Chien, Head of Fashion, and Gabriela Pereira, Account Manager at TikTok—which will have its own booth at the event, within the area dedicated to specialized services for the footwear sector.

In this dedicated area of the venue there will also be exhibitors such as DataSystem, a software and digital solutions company 100% focused on footwear and apparel retail—which will operate a concept store on the show floor; Shoppub, an e-commerce platform specialized in fashion, with footwear and apparel as the strongest segments in its client base; as well as Linx, a technology specialist with deep expertise in retail management software. Other service providers will also be on site, including Lukaflex, a manufacturer of customized bags made of plastic, paper, and nonwoven (TNT), and Patrus Transportes, a national leader in less-than-truckload (LTL) freight.

“For Patrus Transportes, taking part in the 5th edition of BFSHOW is a strategic and valuable opportunity to connect with the key players in the sector, strengthen our market presence, and expand our network of relationships. The trade show is a vibrant business environment, where every conversation can turn into a promising partnership and every contact can open doors to new possibilities,” concludes Clóvis Severino, the company’s Commercial Director.

In a time of uncertainty, BFSHOW will play a pivotal role in boosting exports

With 33% more accredited international buyers compared to the same period last year, the 5th edition of BFSHOW reaffirms its relevance as the leading export platform for Brazil’s footwear industry. The biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America, the event held by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil will take place November 10–12 at the Distrito Anhembi venue, in São Paulo, Brazil. Organizers project that the 350+ Brazilian brands will welcome around 12,000 buyers, at least 10% of them international.

According to Abicalçados’ Relationship and Business Manager, Letícia Sperb Masselli, the strong interest from international buyers in being at BFSHOW underscores the event’s relevance for Brazilian exports at a time of significant global uncertainty. “Today, BFSHOW is essential for exporting companies seeking to expand their international footprint. Exhibiting brands understand the importance of presenting collections and commercial terms aligned with a market-diversification strategy, since the show is pivotal for companies that aim to broaden their presence abroad,” she notes.

NürnbergMesse Brasil’s Head of BFSHOW, Felipe Marchioni, reports that, to date, buyers from 39 countries have registered, with Argentina and Ecuador standing out. “The diversity of markets at BFSHOW is crucial at a time when the footwear industry needs to further diversify and spread its export base,” he emphasizes.

Positive expectations
Many companies confirmed for the fifth edition of BFSHOW attribute a significant share of their export growth to participating in the show. Producing more than 2.5 million pairs per year—about 10% of which go to over 30 countries—Pampili (Birigui/SP) is one of them. “In a context of challenges in the international market, BFSHOW has proven increasingly relevant to Pampili’s expansion strategy. The show, which draws strong international traffic, is considered the most effective in international results for the brand,” explains Silvana Silveira, the company’s head of international business.

According to Silvana, given the show’s relevance for exports, Pampili decided to increase its presence at the November edition, investing in a larger space with an area dedicated exclusively to meeting with importers. “Our participation in May already delivered positive results, with Pampili consolidating partnerships and opening negotiations in new markets. Business growth compared to May 2024 was 20%,” the executive notes, adding that for November the expectation is to sustain this pace and further expand opportunities.

Gateway
With an annual output of 120,000 pairs—60% of which are exported—the young brand Voices Culture (Bento Gonçalves/RS) is expected to close 2025 with a 30% increase in exports compared to last year. According to the company’s export manager, Nathália Schneider, BFSHOW plays a pivotal role in the brand’s international market entry strategy. “The market is challenging, and a key point is diversifying destinations, which allows us to mitigate risks. That’s why we’ve doubled down on trade show participation, and BFSHOW is a gateway to the global market,” she explains. For her, the show has been a positive surprise for the volume and quality of importers from highly diverse origins.

15% growth
Producing 720,000 pairs per year, 15% of which are exported, Polo Go (Nova Serrana/MG) underscores BFSHOW’s relevance for attracting new clients, especially in the international market. “Last May’s show was very good for us. We secured three new export clients and confirmed our collection with domestic-market customers. For November 2025, the expectation is 15% growth compared to last year’s show,” projects Ricardo Luiz Campos, CEO of the Ride group, owner of the Polo Go brand.

Classic vs. Rebel: the counterpoint will dominate the footwear launches for Fall/Winter 2026

A duality that promises to please every taste. The leading trends for Fall/Winter 2026 footwear and handbag collections set, on one side, a classic ladylike style—defined by pumps, sandals, and peep toes with a more modern reading. On the other, a rebellious streetwear look, featuring hardware and buckles. And Brazil’s leading footwear manufacturers are already tuning into these trends to present them to buyers at the 5th BFSHOW, The biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America. The event, held by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil, will take place November 10–12 at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo/Brazil.

“Boots will take center stage this season and appear in multiple versions—slouch, over-the-knee, stretch—and in different shaft heights,” says Luana Lanzini, a cofounder of the Fashion Directions fashion and research platform. She also notes that in a season when the basics will be revisited, distinctive heels, a mix of materials in different textures with statement details, and new cutouts will draw attention. “In terms of shapes, elongated pointed toes, modern square toes, and high vamps are icons of modernity,” she adds.

80'Fever
And what else can we expect to see in the aisles of this edition? According to Fashion Directions’ survey, boho will also remain on the rise for another season, but this time it comes with cozy textures and warm tones. “But the big news will be the return of ’80s-inspired maximalism: vibrant colors, intense shine, and statement pieces that break with the minimalism and austerity of the last few winters,” reveals Luana Savadintzky, also a cofounder of the fashion platform.

Vizzano—a brand defined by a DNA of glamour and soft power—will bring this trend strongly in its upcoming launches at BFSHOW. These are shoes and handbags that translate the festive season, with sandals in colors such as red and silver.

New Boho
Those betting on a new take on boho include Moleca. Its next collection will feature a reinterpretation called Motomoda (or Moto Boho), which blends the delicacy of fluid pieces with the rebellious attitude of motorcycling. For the collection, black predominates, adorned with details such as studs — tachas — on footwear, shoulder bags, and bucket bags.

Among Beira Rio’s launches, mules and block-heel sandals with casual-chic inspiration will take the spotlight. For Fall/Winter 2026, the brand will present new options from its collaboration with actress Camila Queiroz, such as handbags with embellishments in organic shapes.

At Bebecê, there will be three main styles: the classic, which revives the sophistication of pumps and sandals, but with details such as strategic cutouts and the application of metal pieces. In contrast, the folk aesthetic—set to appear on boots—arrives with a more rustic look and earthy tones, featuring animal prints, semi-gloss finishes, and the velvety texture of suede. Lastly, the dark style bets on a bold, sensual look, with gothic references represented by mini metal accents and studs (tachas), and a color palette of intense, deep tones such as black, tourmaline, and fig.

“Trends are very important when it comes to developing collections, as they serve as indicators of the market’s expectations and directions. Aligned with brand values and with what is happening in the world, trends have a direct impact on the development of the color palette, the choice of materials, and the design of the styles. This alignment is essential for us—both for creating a collection with a unique identity that reflects our consumer’s personality and for crafting pieces that meet market demands,” emphasizes Monica Salin, Bebecê’s creative coordinator.

With support from regional unions, footwear hubs expect to expand business at BFSHOW

The 5th edition of BFSHOW is gearing up to welcome and boost sales for representatives from Brazil’s most important footwear-producing hubs. The biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America, held by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil, takes place from November 10 to 12 at the venue Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo/SP.

Exhibitors represent a significant share of national production. The Northeast, for instance, is a leading presence at the event. Together, the four main footwear-producing states in the region (Ceará, Paraíba, Bahia, and Pernambuco) produced nearly 476 million pairs — more than half of the volume manufactured in the country in 2024.

Bahia
To ensure that participation in the trade show is as effective as possible, a large share of companies rely on support from their employers’ unions at the event. One of the supporters is Sindicalçados Bahia, which will be at the November edition alongside eight member companies. The organization’s president, Paulo Vicente Bender, notes that BFSHOW has reactivated footwear trade shows at both the national and international levels. “The show has an important differentiator: the strong presence of international visitors. For our hub, the trade show has offered good opportunities for business prospecting in the domestic market and worldwide. Even with concerns about tariff issues that affect the sector, our outlook for November is quite optimistic,” Bender points out.

Rio Grande do Sul
Apprehension over the U.S. tariff hike is affecting the sector, which views BFSHOW as a key force to face the situation. “Despite these barriers, we are fully convinced that the show will be another milestone in strengthening Brazil’s footwear industry, reinforcing its relevance on the global stage and elevating the activity. We believe the trade show will be an opportunity to expand business, consolidate commercial relationships, and open new export channels,” says Paulo Ricardo da Silva, president of the Novo Hamburgo Footwear Industries Union (SICNH). Part of the Vale do Sinos (RS) footwear hub, the organization will also have eight member companies at the venue Distrito Anhembi in November.

Silva also highlights that BFSHOW creates a strategic environment for business, networking, and international visibility—but goes even further: “it is a showcase to present to the world the creativity, resilience, and adaptability of our hub.”

Minas Gerais
One of the most important representatives of Minas Gerais’ footwear industry — responsible for 43.2% of the state’s production in 2024, according to data from IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) and the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) — Nova Serrana will once again bring a large delegation to the event. “BFSHOW has established itself as one of the main showcases for our hub. It’s the stage where our industries not only present the quality and design of their products to buyers from all over Brazil and the world, but also seal partnerships and deals that energize our entire value chain. For us, the trade show is one of the highlights of the calendar — a fundamental event for market expansion and for strengthening our brands,” says Rodrigo Amaral Martins, president of the Intermunicipal Footwear Industries Union of Nova Serrana (Sindinova).

The organization, which has participated in the trade show since the first edition, will bring 45 companies to São Paulo in November. Sindinova emphasizes that the high number of represented firms demonstrates the Minas Gerais hub’s confidence in the event at a highly strategic moment for the sector. “We anticipate a favorable environment for prospecting new clients and closing deals, boosting sales for the upcoming seasons. We are confident that the November edition will reaffirm Nova Serrana’s position as one of the largest and most dynamic footwear hubs in Latin America,” Martins concludes.

With around 350 brands, the 5th edition of BFSHOW is expected to welcome more than 12,000 domestic and international visitors during the show. Registration is open at www.bfshow.com.br

Brazilian Footwear Industry Holds High Expectations for BFSHOW

While preparing the latest releases for upcoming collections, the Brazilian footwear industry remains optimistic about its participation in the 5th edition of BFSHOW, the biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America. Organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and hosted by NürnbergMesse Brasil, the event will take place from November 10 to 12 at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo/SP.

The Executive President of Abicalçados, Haroldo Ferreira, emphasizes that BFSHOW is the ideal moment for the Brazilian footwear industry to present its collections to buyers from Brazil and around the world. “In a time of international instability, the trade show becomes even more important,” he points out.

According to Felipe Marchiori, Head of BFSHOW at NürnbergMesse Brasil, the event — which has already sold 98% of its exhibition space to brands representing every footwear hub and segment — is expected to welcome more than 12,000 visitors from across Brazil, as well as importers from the world’s leading markets. “Our outlook couldn’t be better, given the current momentum in retail and the outstanding quality of our exhibitors,” he emphasizes.

One of the confirmed exhibitors is Lynd, from Nova Serrana/MG. According to its director, Ronaldo Lacerda, the trade show is gaining strong momentum. “It’s not just a place for prospecting, but for closing deals. It’s the ideal opportunity to showcase our complete collections to both domestic and international clients, all in one place,” he comments. He adds that the brand’s confidence in BFSHOW is reflected in the expansion of its booth, which grew from 68 square meters to more than 160 square meters for this fifth edition. “Our expectation for the show is to increase business by more than 300% compared to last November’s edition,” Lacerda concludes.

Taking part in BFSHOW since 2023, Sugar Shoes, from Picada Café/RS, views the trade show as a key opportunity to strengthen connections with both domestic and international markets. At the November 2024 edition, the company’s director, Rodaika Diel, recalls that the booth welcomed important partner visits, with face-to-face meetings that helped solidify ongoing negotiations. “But it was in the domestic market where we saw the greatest impact, with an 83% increase in visitation and twice as many deals compared to the previous edition,” she notes, adding that the company’s projection is to surpass the results achieved in November 2024.

Present at BFSHOW since its very first edition, Levecomfort, from Franca/SP, describes the trade show as “a gateway to new buyers, both domestic and international.” The company’s Marketing Coordinator, Andrew Caettano, points out that the event supports the brand not only in generating business but also in building relationships and gathering feedback on product developments. “In every edition of BFSHOW we’ve closed deals during the show and also prospected new opportunities that materialized afterwards,” he says. Caettano projects that the upcoming November edition will yield results surpassing those recorded at last year’s event.

BFSHOW is expected to host around 350 footwear brands from Brazil’s main production hubs, encompassing companies of all sizes, segments, and market niches.

BFSHOW sees 26% increase in international buyers registered

The 5th edition of BFSHOW, The biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America, already has 26% more international buyers registered compared to the same period in 2024 (August-to-August). Organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil, the event will take place from November 10 to 12 at the Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo/SP.

According to a report prepared by NürnbergMesse Brasil, importers from Germany, Argentina, Aruba, Botswana, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, the United States, Gibraltar, Guatemala, Israel, Nigeria, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Tunisia, Turkey, and Uruguay have already registered. Abicalçados’ Relationship and Business Manager, Letícia Sperb Masselli, emphasizes that the fact that the trade show has become the main showcase for Brazilian footwear is drawing attention from buyers across all continents, including from markets that still do not import from Brazil. “We have the largest footwear industry in the Western world, offering quality, sustainability, and competitive prices. In this edition, as we face an unstable scenario regarding exports to the United States, the trade show becomes even more important for our industry, especially given the need to diversify markets,” said the manager.

Felipe Marchiori, Head of BFSHOW at NürnbergMesse Brasil, projects that more than one thousand importers from all continents are expected to attend the event. This presence will be driven by the combined efforts of the trade show’s projects and the Brazilian Footwear program—an initiative led by Abicalçados in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil)—in addition to visitors arriving independently. “At the last edition of BFSHOW, held in May, international business alone exceeded R$ 240 million. Our expectations are very positive to match or even surpass that figure,” he projected.

With more than 95% of its exhibition space already sold, BFSHOW is expected to host around 350 footwear brands representing all of Brazil’s footwear-producing regions, company sizes, segments, and niches. The trade show is projected to welcome over 12,000 national and international buyers. Registration is now open at www.bfshow.com.br.

With registration open, BFSHOW has already sold 95% of its spaces

The 5th edition of BFSHOW, The biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America, has already sold 95% of its spaces. With exhibitors from all Footwear Local Productive Arrangements (LPA), of all sizes, segments, and niches of activity already confirmed, the show—which is now open for visitor registration at www.bfshow.com.br—will take place November 10–12 at the Anhembi District in São Paulo/SP. The promotion is by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and the organization by NürnbergMesse Brasil.

The Executive President of Abicalçados, Haroldo Ferreira, emphasizes that the event takes place at an important moment for the Brazilian footwear sector, given the challenges for maintaining exports to the United States due to the surtax applied to Brazilian products. According to him, in this context, with its buyer program, the trade show is even more focused on bringing international buyers in order to help the industry find alternatives to sell its footwear. “BFSHOW, as the biggest global showcase of Brazilian footwear, has an even more relevant role at this moment, as it presents us as the largest player in the West, with the production capacity to serve different markets with quality, design, and sustainability,” he explains.

Capillarity
According to the executive, BFSHOW will be the moment to showcase the strength of Brazilian footwear and its capillarity. “The United States is our largest buyer, and we are seeking ways to maintain exports while also needing to explore more destinations,” said Ferreira. For this edition, importers from countries such as Germany, Bolivia, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Guatemala, Peru, Portugal, Taiwan, and Zambia are already confirmed, in addition to the United States, which, despite uncertainties, is willing to negotiate and continue sourcing from Brazil. In the most recent edition of BFSHOW, held in May, more than 1,200 importers attended, generating business that exceeded R$ 240 million.

Content and Sustainability
The CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, João Paulo Picolo, emphasizes that BFSHOW will bring new releases from leading Brazilian brands in an excellent environment for hosting buyers from all over Brazil and much of the world. According to him, in addition to business, BFSHOW will feature a program with relevant content for the sector in its Arena (the schedule will be released in the coming months).

Another highlight is the synergy of the organizer with the sustainability principles valued by the sector. “The Brazilian footwear industry is the most sustainable in the world in this segment, and NürnbergMesse Brasil is aligned with this fact. In addition to the exhibition of sustainable footwear certified by Sustainable Origin, a large portion of the materials used at the trade show will be recycled,” he says. In addition to environmental sustainability initiatives, BFSHOW will also allocate 10% of the event’s organizational jobs to social labor, in partnership with the Parents and Friends of Exceptional Children Associations (Apae Brasil).

BFSHOW generates over BRL 240 million in international business

The 4th edition of BFSHOW, the footwear trade show held from May 19 to 21 at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo/SP, generated BRL 240.75 million (USD 43.6 million) in international business, including deals closed on-site and those in progress. The figure comes from a report released by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), which promotes the event organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil.

According to Paola Pontin, Business Coordinator at Abicalçados, the reported amount accounts only for deals made by the 175 international buyers invited through the trade show and the Brazilian Footwear program, an initiative carried out by the association in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). “The total business volume is certainly much higher, as we welcomed more than 12,300 visitors, around 1,200 of them from over 50 countries,” she explains.

Rico Azeredo, Head of New Business at NürnbergMesse Brasil, emphasizes the joint effort by BFSHOW and Abicalçados to bring selected buyers from over 30 countries to the event. “At BFSHOW, we welcomed importers from every continent except Oceania. Many deals were closed on-site, while several others were set in motion for the coming months. The trade show is a major global showcase for Brazilian footwear,” he celebrates.

Exports

Unlike last year, when the domestic market played a key role in driving footwear production growth, exports are expected to be the main driver in 2025. According to Abicalçados, footwear production is projected to grow between 1.4% and 2.2%, while exports are expected to increase by around 4% compared to the previous year.

The trade show

Recognized as the biggest footwear trade show in Latin America, the fourth edition of BFSHOW featured 353 Brazilian brands. The next edition of the event will take place from November 10 to 12 at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo/SP. The May 2026 edition is already scheduled for the 18th to the 20th, at the same venue.

Record-breaking visitation and closed deals mark the 4th edition of BFSHOW

The 4th edition of BFSHOW, the biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America, brought together 353 Brazilian brands from May 19 to 21 at the Anhembi District in São Paulo/SP. The event was marked by closed deals on-site. Exhibitors highlighted the effectiveness of the record visitation, with over 12,300 buyers attending, including 1,200 from 60 countries. The total transaction volume will be announced in the coming days. The tradeshow is organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and managed by NürnbergMesse Brasil.

The Executive President of Abicalçados, Haroldo Ferreira, emphasized that the event demonstrated the strength of Brazil's footwear production, the fourth largest in the world and the largest in the Western Hemisphere. “Brazil is a major global showcase for footwear with design, innovation, and sustainability. BFSHOW, which featured companies responsible for more than 70% of national production, was a clear demonstration of this. Buyers, in addition to coming in large numbers, also closed deals,” Ferreira commented, adding that the “barometer” presented at the tradeshow offers optimism for the sector, which is expected to grow by more than 2% in 2025, reaching a production of over 940 million pairs of shoes.

Latin America’s Leading Trade Show
The CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, João Paulo Picolo, celebrated the fact that BFSHOW, now in its fourth edition, has already become the biggest tradeshow in the sector in Latin America. “With 30% more space, the tradeshow will continue to grow in the coming years,” he celebrated. “All the exhibitors we spoke with were very satisfied with the national and international visitation. The feeling is one of a job well done,” the CEO remarked, highlighting that 76% of the spaces for the November edition have already been sold.

Exhibitors
Having participated in trade shows for over 20 years, the CEO of Polo Go (Nova Serrana/MG), Ricardo Campos, stated that the company’s sales target was achieved on the first day of the event. “I’ve been attending trade shows for many years, in all states, and this one was the best in terms of business,” he said. A brand of the Ride group, which grew nearly 400% in revenue during the first quarter, Polo Go is confident about increasing sales in 2025.

Mariana Thomasi, Head of Revenue at Linus, São Paulo/SP, highlighted the qualified visitation of national and international buyers invited to the event. “The contacts were very qualified, and this was reflected at the tradeshow. We are excited about our participation, and this is certainly the beginning of a great partnership that will help position Linus in the B2B market,” Mariana emphasized, praising the large number of importers visiting the event, particularly from Latin America.

Suzana Santos, from São João Batista/SC, was also pleased with her company’s participation in the event. “We had excellent results, with the collection being well-received by the market,” celebrated Suzana Santos, the company’s Creative and Commercial Director. According to her, the international visitation was significant. “BFSHOW is on par with any international tradeshow when it comes to attracting buyers. We opened new export markets in the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe,” she said.

Buyers
Lorena Bertu, Director of Loff Shoes, Belo Horizonte/MG, shared that she found new suppliers of premium footwear at the tradeshow. “The event presented an important variety of 'finds'—leather shoes from smaller, more exclusive brands. We left here with all the purchases for our second semester,” she said.

Camille Torres Jara, Purchasing Manager at Nievecitas, Ecuador, attended BFSHOW for the third time. “From the beginning, we’ve worked with Brazilian footwear because it has unique design, technology, and is made with high quality. The event is excellently organized, with a mix of interesting products. We are progressively increasing the volume of Brazilian footwear purchases, and in this edition, we closed about 10% more deals than last May,” she stated.

The next edition of BFSHOW will take place from November 10 to 12 at the Anhembi District in São Paulo/Brazil. The May 2026 edition will be held from May 18 to 20, at the same location.

Footwear industry surpasses pre-pandemic production levels

The biggest footwear tradeshow in Latin America, BFSHOW opens with 353 Brazilian brands

With a 30% growth compared to its most recent edition, BFSHOW officially opened with 353 footwear brands from all of Brazil’s manufacturing hubs. During the opening ceremony, the strength of the industry was emphasized — even amid international economic instability, the sector is projecting growth of over 2% throughout 2025. The fourth edition of the show, taking place from May 19 to 21 at the Anhembi District in São Paulo, is expected to welcome more than 10,000 retailers from every Brazilian state, along with around 1,200 importers from 62 countries. The trade show is organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil.

On the occasion, the Executive President of the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), Haroldo Ferreira, emphasized the growth of the show organized by the national footwear industry through its representative entity: “It’s important to highlight that the strength of the Brazilian footwear sector is a direct result of the companies themselves, which — despite all the challenges, widely reported in the media every day — continue to create products with outstanding sustainability, quality, and design, supplying not only Brazil but also more than 160 countries around the world.” According to him, BFSHOW is more than just a trade show — it is “a tribute to the Brazilian footwear industry and to the national expertise in shoe manufacturing.”

João Paulo Picolo, CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, highlighted the rapid growth of BFSHOW, which in just its fourth edition has already become the biggest trade show for the sector in Latin America. “We are among the three largest event organizers in the country, with a portfolio of more than 15 business trade shows across 28 different industries. And BFSHOW, now in its fourth edition, proudly stands as one of the greatest symbols of that growth. This edition brought remarkable results, including a record-breaking buyer project with 681 national and international buyers invited by the trade show and Abicalçados through Brazilian Footwear — the export promotion program carried out in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil),” he said.

Resilience

Representing the Government of São Paulo, the State Secretary for Government and Institutional Relations, Gilberto Kassab, emphasized the resilience of an industry that “makes Brazil proud.” “The footwear sector has faced countless challenges over the past decades and has continued to grow thanks to the strength of its companies. Of course, it still needs support, but it is a very strong segment of our economy and a driver of development across the country,” he said.

The footwear hub of Rio Grande do Sul was represented by the state’s Secretary of Economic Development, Ernani Polo. “The footwear industry is strategic for the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and it is essential that we work together — government and industry — to support its development,” said the secretary, adding that one-third of the brands exhibiting at BFSHOW are based in Rio Grande do Sul.

Payroll Tax Relief

Representing the presidency of the Federal Chamber of Deputies, Congresswoman Any Ortiz highlighted the partnership between lawmakers and the Brazilian footwear industry. She recalled the recent extension of the payroll tax relief, which — although not fully preserved — was ultimately secured after extensive negotiations between Congress and the Federal Government, and will remain in effect through the end of 2027. “This trade show is our foundation for defending the renewal of payroll tax relief. The development of the sector depends on a lower tax burden, as a means to foster formal employment by improving the competitiveness of our industry,” she stated.

The opening ceremony also featured a video message from Brazil’s Vice President, Geraldo Alckmin, who is currently in Rome. In the video, he emphasized the Federal Government’s efforts to improve the competitive conditions for national industry, citing the recently issued decree that regulates the law on accelerated depreciation.

Buyer Project to bring more than 680 national and international buyers to BFSHOW

With 353 Brazilian brands already confirmed, the 4th edition of BFSHOW will host 681 buyers, including 175 international guests. As the biggest footwear trade show in Latin America, the event will take place from May 19 to 21 at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo/SP. More than 10,000 retailers and importers are expected over the three-day event — including guests selected in partnership with the exhibitors. The trade show is an initiative by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and is organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil.

Letícia Sperb Masselli, Relationship and Business Manager at Abicalçados, explains that the national and international guests were selected based on recommendations from the exhibitors. The invitations were extended by Abicalçados, through the Brazilian Footwear program — an export promotion initiative carried out in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) — as well as by the trade show itself. “Because BFSHOW was created by the footwear industry and is led by it, the event takes a collaborative and democratic approach, with decisions made alongside the exhibitors,” she says. The show is expected to receive more than 10,000 buyers, including 1,200 international guests from every continent. “Most domestic retailers and international importers attend independently, drawn by the largest footwear showcase in Latin America gathered in one place,” Letícia concludes.

30% growth in floor space
This edition of BFSHOW has grown by 30% in exhibition area, reaching over 32,000 square meters at Distrito Anhembi — making it the largest footwear trade show in Latin America. “At the fair, we bring together all footwear hubs, company sizes, segments, and niches,” says Rico Azeredo, Head of New Business at NürnbergMesse Brasil, emphasizing that the event marks the resurgence of large-scale footwear trade shows in Brazil.

Local buyers
One of the confirmed local buyers at BFSHOW is Alexya Nogueira, from Grupo Oscar — one of the leading retail groups in Brazil, with more than 180 physical stores across five states: São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Pernambuco. “We’re looking for variety and new women’s footwear collections, and BFSHOW delivers a very complete experience, combining fashion, trends, and fresh launches,” she emphasizes.

Meirielle Cajueiro de Oliveira Torres, buyer at W&M, based in Recife/PE, has been sourcing footwear and accessories at BFSHOW for the past two years. “The trade show is a valuable opportunity to connect with suppliers, buyers, and potential partners,” she says.

International buyers
One of the confirmed international buyers is David Benzikry, CEO of Spring Footwear Corp., from the United States. Already working with Brazilian brands, he says this will be his first time attending BFSHOW. “We import more than US$50 million in footwear annually and are the largest national footwear distribution chain in the U.S. Brazilian footwear is a blend of fashion, functionality, and feeling,” he says. According to Benzikry, the company plans to establish new contacts at BFSHOW. “The tariffs between China and the U.S. are playing a key role in driving our search for new partners in Brazil,” he adds.

Nina Di Matteo, buyer at H & B Links Pty, from Australia, imports between 3,000 and 5,000 pairs of Brazilian shoes annually. “We want to increase that volume, as both of our stores sell exclusively Brazilian products. At the trade show, we’re looking for new suppliers of leather footwear,” she says.

Buyer Palath Veettil Muhammed Saheer, from Jamjoom Fashion in the United Arab Emirates, also plans to expand his selection of Brazilian products through new business at BFSHOW. “We already import Brazilian footwear for our 60 stores and want to continue strengthening this partnership,” he says. According to him, Brazilian footwear is in high demand in the Arab market due to its quality and design.

BFSHOW will bring together all footwear clusters and segments from Brazil

The biggest footwear trade show in Latin America, BFSHOW brings together all of Brazil’s footwear hubs and serves every product segment. For its 4th edition, the event—hosted by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil—is expected to feature more than 350 Brazilian brands across an area of over 30,000 square meters. The trade show will take place from May 19 to 21 at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo- Brazil, and registration is now open for visitors from both the domestic and international markets at www.bfshow.com.br.

The industry’s projected growth in production for 2025 sets an optimistic tone for BFSHOW, which will showcase Spring/Summer collections—typically the most profitable season for Brazil’s footwear sector—during its May edition. “BFSHOW will serve as a barometer likely to confirm our forecast of around 2% growth in footwear production throughout 2025,” says Haroldo Ferreira, Executive President of Abicalçados. According to him, while the global outlook remains uncertain—particularly due to the ongoing trade war—there is strong domestic demand and rising interest from international buyers, especially from the United States. “Since the U.S. announced a 145% tariff on Chinese footwear, we’ve seen growing interest from American buyers looking for alternatives to Chinese suppliers,” he explains. BFSHOW is expected to receive over 10,000 visits, including approximately 1,200 international buyers from every continent.

According to João Paulo Picolo, CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, BFSHOW has already established itself as the key meeting point between Brazil’s footwear industry and the global market. “In May, the leading footwear producer in the Western world—offering product diversity, quality, sustainability, and competitive pricing—will be at the trade show. BFSHOW is emerging as the main international sourcing platform for both domestic and international buyers in Latin America. All production hubs, product segments, and niche markets will be represented—from shoemakers to high-end boutiques,” he emphasizes.

Strong presence from Minas Gerais
One of the key footwear hubs featured at BFSHOW is Nova Serrana, located in the state of Minas Gerais, which will be represented by 74 exhibiting brands. Known for its focus on athletic footwear, the Minas Gerais cluster produces over 124 million pairs of shoes per year—accounting for 15% of Brazil’s total footwear output.

One of the confirmed exhibitors is Strike, from Nova Serrana. Producing over 2,000 pairs of sneakers per day for both domestic and international markets—with a focus on South America—the company has high expectations for BFSHOW. “We’re bringing an outstanding collection that will definitely catch buyers’ attention. In addition, we’ll be unveiling exclusive projects during the event,” says Strike’s Marketing Manager, Matheus Henrique Alves. According to him, the trade show serves as a key indicator that helps guide the company’s collection development and short-term commercial strategies. “We’re truly excited and have high hopes of welcoming loyal clients and opening up new markets during the event,” he adds.

According to Cíntia Costa Soares, Commercial and Development Director at Via Vip, participating in BFSHOW is now part of the company’s annual calendar—especially after the event’s move to São Paulo/SP. “We’ve taken part in every edition of BFSHOW, and the results have been excellent. In São Paulo, our company from Nova Serrana has secured more direct business connections and strengthened relationships,” she says. Producing an average of 4,000 pairs per day—ranging from sneakers to boots for both children and adults—Via Vip is optimistic about 2025. “At the trade show, we’re aiming to close sales geared toward Children’s Day, but we’ll also be presenting new collections and gauging retailers’ reactions firsthand. With these new products, we hope to reach every type of customer,” Cíntia adds.

São Paulo embraces BFSHOW
With 96 exhibitors confirmed, the state of São Paulo—responsible for more than 44 million pairs of shoes annually—has fully embraced the trade show organized by Abicalçados. Home to major names such as Alpargatas, maker of the Havaianas brand, São Paulo’s footwear sector will be strongly represented at the event, with new releases from companies of all sizes. One of the regional clusters taking part is Jaú, a city known for its women’s footwear production. For the local manufacturers, BFSHOW is a valuable opportunity to expand business both in Brazil and abroad.

Santa Flor, based in Jaú, has been part of BFSHOW since its second edition—the first one held in São Paulo—and expects a high volume of visitors from both domestic and international markets. “The trade show is essential for the industry, and moving it to São Paulo was a smart decision. It makes it easier for buyers from Brazil and abroad to attend and helps consolidate the calendar around a single, truly national-level footwear event,” says Helder Fernando Rascachi, the company’s Commercial Manager. Santa Flor produces more than 2,000 pairs of women’s shoes per day, 3% of which are exported.

The positive outlook is shared by Giovanna Mott, Director at Mariotta, also based in Jaú. “We’re feeling very optimistic about the upcoming BFSHOW, as the May edition traditionally coincides with a key buying season for retailers—summer collections,” she points out. According to Giovanna, both retailers and importers attend the event looking for products and opportunities tied to the most lucrative time of the year, which, according to Abicalçados, accounts for around 70% of annual footwear sales in Brazil. “At the most recent edition, we saw a strong turnout of both domestic and international buyers, creating excellent business opportunities,” she notes. For Giovanna, the event plays a vital role in showcasing the quality and diversity of Brazilian footwear to the world. Today, Mariotta produces 100,000 pairs of women’s shoes per month, exporting 15% of its output.

Ceará’s strength on display
The state of Ceará will be represented at BFSHOW by 23 exhibiting brands. Accounting for over 26% of Brazil’s total footwear production (around 225 million pairs per year), the Ceará footwear industry focuses primarily on Spring/Summer collections, offering high-quality flip-flops and beach sandals to both the domestic and international markets. With skilled labor, cutting-edge technology, and competitive pricing, Ceará is a major player in the sector.

One of the exhibitors from Ceará at BFSHOW is Tropical Brasil, a producer of flip-flops and beach sandals from Juazeiro do Norte. The company’s director, Ananias Neto, emphasizes that expectations for the trade show are very high. “This will be our second time participating in the event, and at our first edition, we had an extremely positive experience, generating numerous business opportunities both in the domestic and international markets,” he says. "Our participation provided excellent visibility and further solidified Tropical Brasil’s position within the national footwear ecosystem,” says Neto. For him, BFSHOW has become much more than just a business event. “It’s a strategic moment to update footwear fashion trends, strengthen ties with industry partners, and reaffirm the importance and strength of Brazil’s footwear market. It’s a showcase that demonstrates to both Brazil and the world the size, seriousness, and relevance of our sector,” says the director, who expresses his excitement for the upcoming edition. “Our expectation is to open new business opportunities, strengthen relationships with current clients, and resume conversations with international partners,” he concludes. Today, Tropical Brasil produces 240,000 pairs per month, exporting 5% of its output.

The ease of logistics, with the addition of a major national trade show in São Paulo, is highlighted by another exhibitor from the Northeast, Vizzia, a producer of sandals from Juazeiro do Norte. “The move of BFSHOW to São Paulo was very important, as it makes it easier for both national and international buyers to attend, streamlining the overall logistics of the event. We expect BFSHOW to bring back the best moments of the commercial trade shows that used to take place in São Paulo. The summer collection launch period is our key moment for exposure, so expectations are very high, especially in the international market,” says the company’s Export Manager, André Duarte Santos. Today, Vizzia produces an average of 15,000 to 16,000 pairs per day, exporting around 10%.

Footwear trade show offers special deals for retail buyers

São Paulo will host the 4th edition of BFSHOW, the biggest footwear trade show in Latin America, from May 19 to 21. Organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil, the event has become one of the industry’s leading business platforms, bringing together brands from every cluster, size, and segment to showcase trends and offer exclusive commercial opportunities.

Offering multiple advantages to visitors is one of BFSHOW’s main draws, making the event even more strategic for driving business across the industry. On the show floor, exhibitors take the opportunity to present special commercial conditions, allowing retailers to purchase exclusive products at competitive prices. In this way, buyers attending the trade show get a first look at new collections while also gaining the chance to negotiate better margins. “BFSHOW is currently the most anticipated footwear trade show in Latin America, as it showcases, firsthand, the full diversity of the Brazilian footwear industry—the largest in the Western world. We have high expectations in terms of business generation, in addition to building valuable connections in both the domestic and international markets. This is the trade show footwear buyers need to attend to discover new products and take advantage of special purchasing terms, including discounts and extended payment deadlines, for the upcoming Summer collections,” says Letícia Sperb Masselli, Business and Relationship Manager at Abicalçados.

Exclusive deals at the trade show
Among the brands offering special purchasing terms is Mariotta Calçados, from Jaú, São Paulo. In addition to unveiling its new collection, the company will offer discounts of up to 10% for retailers placing orders during the event. With international buyers in mind, Klin, based in Birigui, São Paulo, is also launching its latest collection at BFSHOW and will provide exclusive conditions for attendees. For instance, orders of over one thousand pairs destined for North America or Europe will qualify for free shipping.

Retailers placing orders with Kidy, also based in Birigui, São Paulo, will benefit from special delivery terms, receiving products ahead of schedule. The brand will unveil its new Children's Day collection exclusively at BFSHOW. According to Rafael Menezes, Kidy’s Domestic Market Manager, the trade show “presents the latest fashion trends, and it’s essential to stay ahead and be among the first to receive these new releases, while also gaining insight into where the market is headed.”

With free admission and exclusive access for industry professionals, BFSHOW is expected to bring together around 350 brands and welcome over 10,000 Brazilian retailers and international buyers— all on the lookout for opportunities like these and more. Humberto Costa, a buyer representing Grupo Planeta Jeans from Paraná, has attended previous editions and emphasizes the event’s relevance for the retail sector: “BFSHOW gives us the chance to discover the latest releases firsthand. According to Ricardo Azeredo, Head of New Business at NürnbergMesse Brasil, “BFSHOW is the leading trade show in the segment and an excellent opportunity for retailers to expand their network, secure advantageous deals, and keep a close eye on the trends that will drive the industry in the coming months.”

Rising Exports Boost Footwear Industry’s Optimism for BFSHOW

The surge in Brazilian footwear exports during the first two months of the year—more than 21 million pairs shipped, a 14.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024—is fueling optimism among footwear manufacturers ahead of the fourth edition of BFSHOW. Recognized as the biggest footwear trade show in Latin America in terms of both space and number of participating brands, the event will take place from May 19 to 21 at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo, Brazil.

Abicalçados’ Relationship and Business Manager, Letícia Sperb Masselli, emphasizes that the trade show has been attracting both domestic and, especially, international buyers seeking the excellence of Brazilian footwear. “Brazil is the leading footwear supplier outside Asia, combining quality and competitive pricing, particularly given the current exchange rate,” she explains. According to her, BFSHOW has already become an international reference for Brazilian footwear. “Since its first edition, the trade show has stood out for the opportunities and business generated for the international market. BFSHOW is the right place to win over international clients without leaving Brazil,” she adds.

Rico Azeredo, Head of New Business at NürnbergMesse Brasil, highlights the strong potential of the buyers registering for the event. “We already have confirmed buyers from key international markets, and we are seeing growing interest from the United States, Argentina, and European countries such as Spain, which in 2025 became the third-largest destination for Brazilian footwear abroad,” he notes. The organizer projects that the event will welcome more than 1,200 international buyers from all continents.

The prospect of boosting exports—or even kickstarting them—is one of the key reasons hundreds of companies participate in BFSHOW. Among them is Crep, a children's footwear manufacturer from São José dos Campos, São Paulo. The company’s CFO, Carla Crepaldi, shares that in November 2024, the brand secured its first international client at BFSHOW. “Since the second edition, we had been in talks with a major Peruvian wholesaler, but we had not yet formalized the export deal. Last November, we made our first international sale, and from now on, we plan to strengthen our presence in this market,” she says.

United States Sets Its Sights on Brazil

Summer Appeal in Spain
Another confirmed buyer at BFSHOW is Jose Antonio Albero, CEO of Nuez Moscada SL from Spain. With 400 stores across the country, the group already works with several Brazilian footwear companies and imports more than 20,000 pairs of Brazilian shoes annually. “Brazilian footwear is synonymous with vacations, leisure, and summer. For a country like Spain, where tourism is booming and summers are getting longer, Brazil offers the right product, combining competitive pricing with quality,” he says. At BFSHOW, Albero plans to visit existing suppliers and seek new manufacturers in the segment.

With a total area of over 32,000 square meters, the fourth edition of BFSHOW has already sold 93% of its exhibition spaces to Brazilian brands. Exhibitors interested in participating can visit the "QUERO EXPOR" section on the event’s website. Buyers can also use the same site to complete their pre-registration. www.bfshow.com.br. Expected to feature more than 350 leading Brazilian footwear brands from all production hubs and market segments, BFSHOW is set to welcome over 10,000 visitors from across Brazil and five continents over its three-day run. Letícia Sperb Masselli, Abicalçados' Relationship and Business Manager, emphasizes that the event kicks off the most important sales season for the Brazilian industry: Spring/Summer. “Brazil, being a tropical country, is internationally recognized for its summer footwear production, which accounts for more than 70% of the sector’s sales—around 630 million pairs out of the nearly 900 million produced annually,” says Letícia. She also highlights that the projected 2% growth in footwear production for 2025 is closely linked to BFSHOW’s performance.

Growth

Rico Azeredo, Head of New Business at NürnbergMesse Brasil, underscores BFSHOW’s rapid growth, as the event, now in its fourth edition, has already become the largest business trade show for the sector in Latin America. “The Brazilian footwear industry leads production in the Western world for a reason. Domestic Demand Growth Drives Footwear Production Increase

The rising domestic demand for footwear fueled the industry’s production growth in 2024. Data compiled by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), based on IBGE indexes, show that production grew by 3.5% compared to 2023. In total, 896.8 million pairs were produced, with 97.4 million destined for export.

Abicalçados’ executive president, Haroldo Ferreira, explains that production growth could have been even higher if not for the surge in imported footwear, particularly from Asia. Last year, imports increased by 26% compared to 2023, with about 90% of these imports coming from Asian countries, mainly Vietnam, China, and Indonesia. “Today, over 85% of our production is absorbed by the domestic market, which remained strong throughout 2024, with apparent consumption growing by 7.7%. However, a significant share of this positive domestic performance was captured by imports,” says Ferreira.

Close to Pre-Pandemic Levels
The 896.8 million pairs produced in 2024 nearly matched the volume recorded before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, when production reached 898.8 million pairs—just 0.2% higher than last year. Looking ahead to 2025, despite ongoing challenges, particularly in the international market, the sector is expected to recover losses caused by the global pandemic crisis. “2025 will be a challenging year, but we remain optimistic. In May, with BFSHOW—the largest footwear trade show in Latin America, held in São Paulo—we will have a clearer gauge of market trends,” Ferreira projects.

BFSHOW
BFSHOW is set to host more than 350 Brazilian footwear brands, welcoming retailers and importers from around the world. Taking place from May 19 to 21 at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo, the event will showcase Summer collections, which account for over 70% of the domestic footwear industry's sales. BFSHOW consolidates its position as the biggest footwear trade show in Latin America

With the conclusion of its third edition, BFSHOW—organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil—has established itself as the leading trade show dedicated to the footwear sector in Latin America. The event stood out for its strong industry representation, international reach, and impressive results. It was held at Distrito Anhembi, in São Paulo/Brazil, from November 11 to 13.

In November, the trade show brought together 330 brands and 238 exhibitors, covering 11,611 square meters of exhibition space within a total area of 25,000 square meters. Buyers from 51 countries—including Argentina, Ecuador, Paraguay, Israel, Kuwait, Libya, Mozambique, Botswana, Portugal, Switzerland, and Slovenia—were in attendance, contributing to a total of 10,495 visitors over three days, 1,130 of whom were international. These numbers reflect BFSHOW’s growing reach and prestige. “BFSHOW reinforced the Brazilian footwear sector’s projections for more than 3% growth in 2024 and an additional 2% in 2025. It was a showcase of Brazilian footwear to the world and will continue to serve as a key indicator of an industry that is so relevant to Brazil,” says Letícia Sperb Masselli, Abicalçados’ Business and Relationship Manager.

Another highlight of the event was the Buyer Program, a partnership between Abicalçados, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), and NürnbergMesse Brasil, which brought in 638 buyers—478 from Brazil and 160 from international markets. “These figures speak volumes about the market’s potential. The trade show is still young, now in its third edition, with two of them already held in São Paulo. Moving the event to São Paulo was a strategic decision to further boost business opportunities and facilitate access for exhibitors and visitors alike,” adds Rico Azeredo, Head of New Business at NürnbergMesse Brasil. Beyond its strong numbers, BFSHOW has gained recognition for presenting the latest developments in the Brazilian footwear industry, reinforcing its role as a key hub for business, innovation, and strategic connections across the Latin American market.

The next edition of the event will take place from May 19 to 21, 2025, at Distrito Anhembi. For more information, visit bfshow.com.br.

BFSHOW registers record visitation and many deals

The 3rd edition of BFSHOW, footwear fair that brought together more than 330 brands between November 11 and 13, in the Anhembi District, in São Paulo/SP, registered record visitation and business. According to the organization, over the three days more than 10.4 thousand buyers passed through the pavilions of the event, which is twice as many as in November 2023. According to the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), the deals took place in important volumes, which will be tabulated in the coming days.

The CEO of Abicalçados, Haroldo Ferreira, points out that BFSHOW will be decisive for the positive expectations of the sector. For 2024, the forecast for growth in production exceeds 3%, to more than 890 million pairs. By 2025, growth will be around 2%, causing the sector to recover losses from the pandemic and reach more than 900 million pairs produced. “We have here a great showcase of Brazilian footwear for the world. We gathered, in these three days, the main brands of the country and buyers from more than 60 countries”, evaluates the director, stressing that at the fair, significant business took place both in the domestic and international markets. "To attract buyers from abroad, BFSHOW worked together with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). With these projects alone, 160 importers and five international journalists were invited to promote our product abroad”, Ferreira lists.

According to the CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, João Paulo Picolo, with each edition, BFSHOW demonstrates its growth and, therefore, has consolidated itself so quickly as the main event of the Brazilian footwear sector. “The fair is already an indispensable meeting point for professionals and the partnership of NürnbergMesse Brasil with Abicalçados has been fundamental to this success”, he comments. The CEO also says that the results of the third edition exceeded all expectations. “We are confident that BFSHOW will continue to evolve and strengthen the national footwear market. No wonder it is already among the main events in the company's portfolio. For the next edition, in May 2025, we expect a growth of 20% when compared to the number of exhibitors and visitors”, he evaluates.

"Right place and right time”
For Marcos Huff, director of Killana, from Três Coroas / RS, BFSHOW is a consolidated fair as the main one in the Brazilian calendar. According to him, during the three days, the exhibition received national and international clients focused on business. “BFSHOW is in the right place and at the right time, with logistical facilities and a very clear positioning aimed at the business. It is very similar to the main fairs in Europe”, he evaluates. Huff also points out that the company, in addition to receiving traditional customers, has opened new markets in Latin America, North America and Europe. “We had much better results than the fair held in May. For the May 2025 edition, we are even more optimistic, " he adds. Currently, Killana has a production of about 13 thousand pairs per month, of which it exports 60%.

The fair was also very positive for Crep, children's footwear industry of São José dos Campos / SP. The company's financial director, Carla Crepaldi, says the company opened its first international client at BFSHOW. "Since the second edition, we've been talking to a large wholesaler from Peru, but we had not yet formalized the export. In this edition, we made our first international sale, a market that we will work harder on from now on”, she celebrates. With a production of 600 pairs per day, the company sees BFSHOW as an important sales and relationship platform with the national and international markets and has confirmed their presence for the May 2025 edition.

With a visitation “much higher than last May”, Di Valentini, from São João Batista/SC, was quite satisfied with BFSHOW. According to the director of the company, José Osterno Filho, the fair had customers focused on business. “We have acquired new clients both domestically and internationally – in Algeria, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, England and Guatemala,” he says. Producing 6.5 thousand pairs per day, Di Valentini exports about 12% of its production, mainly to South American markets.

Fidelis Ferreira, from the sales department at Calçados Maria Isabel, from Conceição do Coité/BA, says that he did good business at the event and left some others agreed upon for the post-fair. “I believe that we will have a growth between 20% and 30% in the business carried out here, in relation to the November 2023 fair, contact domestic and international market, from where we had visits from Canada and Argentina”, projects the shoemaker.

International
For the first time at BFSHOW, Arise buyer from Mozambique, Thembumenzi Souto, said that she has been buying premium Brazilian shoes since 2009, when she decided to exchange suppliers from Bulgaria for suppliers from Brazil. “When I met the Brazilian products, I realized that they had a much higher quality and variety. Currently, we work with seven brands from Brazil and BFSHOW is giving us the opportunity to expand our product mix here”, says the importer, stressing that the partnership of her network with the Brazilian footwear industry is very important for the company's growth.

National
Brazilian buyers were also positively surprised by the structure of the pavilions that hosted BFSHOW in the Anhembi District. Nostalgic for a time when large trade fairs took place on the site, before the renovation opened this year, shopkeepers stressed the quality of the renovation and the organization of the event. “I really liked the structure, with easy access and good distribution by segments”, evaluates the shopkeeper Vinícius Liessi dos Santos, from Calçado Franca, from Maringá/PR. According to him, the network closed deals and left many others agreed upon for the coming months.

The next edition of the BFSHOW will also take place in the Anhembi District, in São Paulo/SP, between May 19th and 21st, 2025.

Boots Dominate New Men’s Collections at BFSHOW

As leading men's footwear brands are showcasing their new collections through Wednesday at BFSHOW, the largest footwear trade show in Brazil, held at the newly opened Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo. Functional footwear is the common trend, with a spotlight on boots — whether they’re utilitarian, sporty, or casual styles suitable for both work and city wear.

One of the exhibiting brands, Democrata, presents its new collection featuring nine boot styles. The “Dusty” line brings an urban aesthetic with distressed leather and a vintage look. Another innovation from the brand is the new addition to the “Pulse” line, now with TPU-capsule soles on casual shoes. This collection's campaign stars Cauã Reymond and Gisele Bündchen.

Macboot, known particularly for its boots, combines comfort and durability in footwear designed for both daily use and outdoor activities. According to Renato Virgilio, Marketing Coordinator, a highlight for BFSHOW is the new Flutua+ technology, now present in nearly all Macboot lines, offering a non-slip sole and EVA midsole that provides maximum cushioning and added lightness. “We’re also adding a touch of sportiness and casual style to our Adventure line, making it a shoe suitable for urban environments too, taking you from the trail to the workplace,” he adds.

Ferracini's latest releases emphasize usability and diverse approaches with a desire for unique acquisitions. Their new lines include shoes and ankle boots that showcase a modern twist, featuring square shapes. The designs are also versatile and include an easywear system — reinforcing the brand’s goal to make footwear easier to slip on, catering to various needs.

Polo Go brings a sporty touch with cleat-style shoes inspired by iconic soccer styles. Known for its urban and casual portfolio with flat sneakers, the brand now adds a sporty element to its range. “These cleat-inspired shoes are highly popular here at BFSHOW, especially among trendsetters. It’s the product that has drawn the most attention from visitors. We’ve also introduced larger sizes, up to 44 and 45, which has been well received given the strong market demand,” says André Costa, CEO of Grupo Ride, which includes Polo Go alongside three other brands: Kids & Baby, Secrets, and Keep GOing.

Domestic Market Ensures Footwear Sector Growth for 2025

Brazil's domestic market, which absorbs over 85% of national footwear industry sales, is expected to sustain the sector’s production growth through 2024 and 2025. This topic, alongside issues such as unfair competition from Asian footwear and international e-commerce platforms, was addressed during the press conference of the third edition of BFSHOW. The event, which started yesterday (11), will run until tomorrow (13) at the Anhembi District in São Paulo, Brazil.

Emphasizing a 4.8% growth in footwear production from January to September this year, according to IBGE data, the Executive President of the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), Haroldo Ferreira, noted that the domestic market should support industry growth of over 3% in 2024 and approximately 2% in 2025. “With this, by 2025, we should be able to recover the losses incurred during the pandemic, which caused a major disruption in the sector. This year, we expect to close with a production of over 890 million pairs of shoes, reaching up to 904 million pairs next year. In 2019, production was 898 million pairs.”

Unfair Competition
Ferreira further stressed that the growth in the footwear industry could be even more significant if not for the unfair competition from Asian-made footwear and international e-commerce platforms. “In 2024, we expect exports to decrease by around 20% and imports to grow by over 20%, primarily due to Asian countries. These products enter the Brazilian market at prices below standard market rates, engaging in predatory competition with our industry,” he explained. According to him, Abicalçados is working to expand the current antidumping measures—which today apply to Chinese footwear with a surcharge of $10.22 per pair entering Brazil—to include Vietnam and Indonesia. “Currently, Chinese production is shifting to nearby countries with even lower labor costs, which continue to practice dumping,” he added.

Trade Show
Following this, the CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, João Paulo Picolo, highlighted BFSHOW’s growth, driven by increased production and demand in the domestic market. “We have here a trade show that demonstrates the strength of Brazil’s footwear sector. With 238 booths and over 330 brands of shoes spread across a total area of 25,000 square meters,” he shared. Expected to attract over 10,000 buyers from Brazil and 60 other countries, BFSHOW has now become the leading footwear trade show in South America.

International
Mariele Christ, Industry and Services Coordinator at the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), emphasized the international expansion of BFSHOW, which features two projects led by Abicalçados in collaboration with ApexBrasil through the Brazilian Footwear program. “The Brazilian Footwear program, renewed earlier this year, secures more than R$ 32 million in investments to promote Brazilian footwear exports over a two-year period,” she said. This third edition of the trade show includes the Buyer Project, hosting 26 international buyers from 16 countries, and the Image Project, which has invited five journalists from Angola, Chile, Colombia, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates. With the total number of buyers brought in through the joint effort of BFSHOW and both organizations, more than 180 importers from all continents are represented.

Challenges
Also present at the press conference, Pedro Bartelle, CEO of Vulcabras, Brazil’s leading producer of sports footwear, highlighted the issue of counterfeiting by showing a counterfeit “Olympikus” sneaker. “The Brazilian industry faces numerous challenges, from unfair competition to high taxes and labor costs, which are at least 40% higher than those in Asian countries. Counterfeiting is another serious issue in this list,” he stated.

The press conference was also attended by Roberto Argenta, President of Calçados Beira Rio; Vania Castilho Mestriner, Creative Director at World Colors; Paulo Barth, Commercial Director at Grendene; Rodrigo Martins, Commercial Director at Marina Mello; and Marcelo Paludetto, Commercial Manager at Democrata.

Brazilian Footwear Industry Expected to Produce Over 900 Million Pairs by 2025

Brazilian Footwear Industry Expected to Produce Over 900 Million Pairs by 2025 The Covid-19 pandemic significantly disrupted the Brazilian footwear industry. Traditionally reliant on the domestic market, where more than 85% of produced pairs are sold, the sector saw steep declines due to restrictions on physical retail. In 2019, 898 million pairs were produced, a number that dropped to 746 million in 2020, then gradually rose to 855 million, 886 million, and 865 million in the following years. For 2024, the Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries (Abicalçados) projects a production increase of up to 3.2%, reaching over 890 million pairs. By 2025, the association estimates a full recovery to pre-2019 levels, with a growth of up to 1.9%, resulting in a production of 904 million pairs.

According to Abicalçados, the domestic market, which had been dragging the industry's performance down since 2019, will play a key role in this recovery, supported by declining unemployment rates and rising income among Brazilians. "Between January and September, the association estimates an over 9% increase in domestic footwear consumption, which includes imports," explains Abicalçados’ Executive President Haroldo Ferreira. To meet this heightened demand, the 3rd edition of BFSHOW, Brazil’s largest footwear trade show with over 290 confirmed brands, will be held in November. “Retailers need to stock up, especially with the year-end holidays approaching, which are historically significant for our industry. Expectations for the show are the most positive yet,” Ferreira adds. Besides showcasing the latest Fall-Winter collections, the event will feature exhibitors with ready-to-ship inventory to supply Brazilian retailers and international buyers.

João Paulo Picolo, CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, organizer of BFSHOW, shared that they anticipate more than 10,000 Brazilian and international buyers from all continents. BFSHOW will take place from November 11 to 13 at Anhembi District in São Paulo/ Brazil, bringing together footwear manufacturers across all segments, regions, and sizes. “It’s the only event in the country where retailers can find everything from major manufacturers to small-scale industries catering to specific boutique niches,” Picolo emphasizes.

BFSHOW emphasizes its commitment to sustainability and predicts an increase in waste recycling

BFSHOW, the leading footwear trade show in Brazil, will debut at the Anhembi District in São Paulo, Brazil on November 11, 12, and 13, with a strong environmental commitment. The 3rd edition of the event aims to increase the recycling rate of waste generated inside the venue by 30% compared to previous editions. The focus is on making the trade show increasingly sustainable, and this increase represents significant progress in proper waste disposal efforts.

Additionally, the event, organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil, has been encouraging exhibitors to join the movement. “We offer the Nürnberg Shared Responsibility Seal, encouraging partners to offset their carbon emissions, an initiative that can also be included in their ESG reports,” says Caroline Guedes, ESG Operations Coordinator at NürnbergMesse Brasil.

NürnbergMesse Brasil was a pioneer in Brazil, promoting proper waste disposal at its business fairs even before it became law in the state of São Paulo. The project, launched in 2023, has already directed 946 tons of waste to recycling, all originating from events organized by the company, including BFSHOW.

Another priority for the 3rd edition of the trade show is social inclusion. In November, 10% of the job positions in the event’s organization will once again be allocated to social labor, in partnership with Apae Brasil. “With an estimated audience of thousands of visitors and over 290 participating brands, BFSHOW remains a reference not only in innovation within the footwear sector but also as a model event committed to sustainability and social responsibility,” explains Cristian Schlindwein, Marketing and Strategy Manager at Abicalçados.

Sustainability Arena
At the trade show, visitors will be able to explore the Sustainability Arena, located at the event's entrance. In addition to showcasing the sustainability practices of the show and the Sustainable Origin certification, the space will feature the BFSHOW Sustainable Footwear exhibit. This area will display footwear models from exhibitors who use sustainable materials and prioritize reducing the environmental impact of their activities. “Sustainability is a core value for the Brazilian footwear sector, Abicalçados, and BFSHOW, which is why it will be prominently showcased at the entrance of the event,” concludes Schlindwein.

BFSHOW is supported by 16 sector unions

The 3rd edition of BFSHOW, a trade fair held by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and organized by NürnbergMesse Brasil, is supported by 16 footwear industry unions from all over Brazil. The event, which takes place from November 11th to 13th at the Anhembi District, in São Paulo/SP, already has more than 290 brands confirmed in an exhibition area of more than 11,000 square meters, double the size of last November's edition.

One of the supporting unions is the Footwear Industry Union of Franca (Sindifranca), which represents the sector in the city considered to be the capital of men's footwear in Brazil. The union, with the support of Franca City Hall, is taking part in the next edition of BFSHOW with the Franca Fashion Space. In this edition, there will be 15 companies in an area of around 220 square meters. “Business is expected to be very good, and we expect results to be higher than those achieved at the last show, which was R$800,000 in sales, not to mention relevant international contacts,” said the organization's president, José Carlos Brigagão do Couto, noting that BFSHOW is now a benchmark for trade fairs in the sector. “There was so much interest in taking part in the fair that the Espaço Moda Franca even had a waiting list. This proves that BFSHOW showed what it was here for and met the expectations of exhibitors and shopkeepers,” he concluded.

Also from São Paulo, representing the women's footwear segment, the Jaú cluster has been present since the first edition of BFSHOW. In this edition, the local industries will be present at a collective stand supported by the Jaú Footwear Industries Union (Sindicalçados Jaú) with a total of 12 exhibitors and 19 brands. “The fair provides a unique opportunity to boost business both for companies that are just starting to exhibit and for those that already trade significant volumes at the event. Since the first edition, there has been a significant increase in the volume of business and, as such, we expect a significant increase in November”, comments the union's president, Luis Felipe Rodomonte.

Representing Brazil's main children's footwear producing hub, the Birigui Footwear and Clothing Industry Union (Sinbi) will be at BFSHOW supporting 12 brands. “Of the supported brands, ten are certified with the Indication of Origin Seal, a guarantee of quality, comfort, creativity and sustainability that guide children's footwear. Taking part in events of great importance, such as BFSHOW, is essential for strengthening the brands in our cluster and increasing their visibility on both the national and international markets,” says the organization's executive director, Silvia Mestriner. According to her, the 3rd edition of the fair should exceed expectations in terms of visitors and results compared to the first shows. “With the constant dedication of the companies in our cluster, we are ready to present the most modern and innovative products, translating this into excellent business,” she said.

Largest state delegation
Nova Serrana, a footwear hub in Minas Gerais that is known for producing sports shoes, will be at BFSHOW with 59 brands, not just sneakers, but from other segments, the largest delegation from the state with a collective stand at the show. “And there's a chance that this number will increase next month,” warns the president of the Nova Serrana Intermunicipal Footwear Industry Union (Sindinova), Ronaldo Lacerda. “BFSHOW helps companies better define their plans for next year. Our expectations are very positive,” he said.

In addition to the unions listed, BFSHOW has the support of the footwear industry unions of Rio Grande do Sul (Sicergs), Campo Bom/RS, Dois Irmãos/RS, Estância Velha/RS (Sicev), Farroupilha/RS (Sindicalfar), Igrejinha/RS (Sindigrejinha), Novo Hamburgo/RS (Sic), Parobé/RS (Sindicap), Sapiranga/RS (Sics), Bahia, Fortaleza (Sindicalf) and Paraíba (Sindicalçados Paraíba).

SMEs Represent Over 90% of the Footwear Industry and Join Forces at BFSHOW to Expand Their Market

The footwear sector is one of the industries with the highest concentration of SMEs in Brazil: out of 53,000 companies in the country, 92% are small and micro enterprises. When combined with medium-sized businesses, according to RAIS 2022, they account for over 5,000 companies that employ nearly 140,000 people, based on 2023 data from the Ministry of Labor and Employment's. To stand out and strengthen the economy, many brands will participate in the 3rd edition of BFSHOW, the main footwear trade show in Brazil, organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil. The event will take place from November 11 to 13 in São Paulo/SP, bringing together hundreds of manufacturers and thousands of Brazilian retailers and international importers. The second edition of the event, held in May, attracted over 9,000 national and international visitors.

An important market for small, medium, and micro-sized footwear entrepreneurs, BFSHOW provides access to retailers and importers who would otherwise be out of reach for these businesses. "BFSHOW encouraged us to aim higher. We were present at the last edition and will continue participating, seeking new markets outside Brazil, which is one of our main goals. The event is a major and important showcase for the sector," says Cacio Piccoli, director of Tree Shoes, a medium-sized company from Santa Catarina state. Producing around 1,000 pairs per day, Tree Shoes’ strategy focuses on staying away from mass production, betting on product diversification combined with creativity, quality, and comfort. The company operates throughout Brazil and exports to countries such as Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, and Paraguay.

"BFSHOW has established itself as a meeting place of opportunities for Brazilian SMEs with retailers and vendors from around the world, increasing the visibility of these brands and, consequently, their sales. We offer the best conditions for them not only to showcase their products but also to grow and expand their presence in both national and international markets," says Rico Azeredo, Head of New Business at NürnbergMesse Brasil.

However, being an SME comes with many challenges. Isaque Weber, Commercial Manager of Werner Calçados, lists labor costs, technology, raw materials, bureaucracy, and even inter-state tax issues as the main difficulties faced by entrepreneurs in the sector. “Large groups can negotiate better raw material prices and have greater advertising and marketing investment power, for example. These are challenges that Werner Calçados has faced and overcome throughout its 55-year history, allowing us to stand out in the industry. We offer high-quality shoes with unique designs and comfort, which keeps us strong in the market," he adds.

The medium-sized company from Rio Grande do Sul has a strong presence both in Brazil and abroad, with representatives in 80% of Brazil’s states, as well as an internal team that directly serves retailers in other regions. Internationally, Werner Calçados does business in over 40 countries, with a significant presence in Italy, France, Portugal, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, and Argentina. "BFSHOW provides the opportunity to launch our new products to key national and international players. It streamlines our networking by bringing top buyers from Brazil and abroad to the event, offering us great visibility and allowing us to reach both markets at once."

In the last edition of BFSHOW, 35% of the 318 exhibitors were categorized as micro and small businesses, and 49% as medium-sized companies. Entrepreneurial support institutions organized collective spaces to help these businesses participate in the event. Sebrae-RS brought the Estação Moda RS, a shared space for 18 micro and small businesses affected by the floods in May, to the first edition of the event in São Paulo. During the event, they closed deals exceeding R$ 44 million, selling over 55,000 products to around 500 different buyers, according to Sebrae.

For the November edition, one of the initiatives to promote SME participation comes from the city of Franca. Through a public notice, the city's Development Department will select 15 footwear and accessory manufacturers from the region to participate in the collective stand of the Espaço Moda Franca project. “BFSHOW is a unique opportunity for all players in our sector. For exhibitors, it offers the chance to showcase their products to new buyers, gaining different clients and markets. For retailers, it’s an event that brings together the best and most modern products all in one place at once, saving hours of research and negotiations," concludes Letícia Sperb Masselli, Abicalçados' Relationship and Business Manager.

Registration Open and New Venue

Registration is now open for retailers, importers, and industry professionals through the website bfshow.com.br. In November, the event will move to a new location, taking place at the newly renovated Distrito Anhembi, in the northern part of São Paulo. With 64,000 square meters of exhibition space, a convention center, hotels with over 7,000 rooms within a 5-kilometer radius, a 13,000-square-meter restaurant, and areas for relaxation and nature, Distrito Anhembi represents an important step in making BFSHOW one of the leading trade shows in the world.

BFSHOW Expected to Confirm Growth Projections for the Footwear Industry

Brazil's leading footwear trade show, BFSHOW, is expected to confirm the optimistic projections for the sector in 2024 and lay the groundwork for continued growth in the coming year. This is the expectation shared by event promoters and confirmed exhibitors, such as Democrata, Via Marte, and Di Valentini. The 3rd edition of the show, which will take place from November 11th to 13th at the Anhembi District in São Paulo/SP, is organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil.

With production growth projected to exceed 2%, reaching over 870 million pairs, the national footwear industry views the trade show as a "thermometer" that will confirm these positive expectations. "The need to restock for the end of the year, given the retail growth throughout 2024, allows us to make a positive business forecast for BFSHOW," says Haroldo Ferreira, Executive President of Abicalçados.

The event's location is another key attraction, as the trade show remains in São Paulo, now at a permanent venue—the newly renovated Anhembi District. This venue offers easy access for visitors from the capital, other regions of São Paulo, other Brazilian states, and international guests. "BFSHOW is the only footwear trade show held in the economic capital of Latin America, which alone consumes more than 40% of the footwear produced by the national industry. In addition, the logistical advantages, with proximity to both Guarulhos International Airport and Congonhas, further attract visitors from major consumption hubs in Brazil and abroad," points out João Paulo Picolo, CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil.

The optimistic outlook is echoed by the exhibitors already confirmed—currently over 270 of the leading Brazilian footwear brands. One such brand is Democrata, based in Franca/SP, a traditional producer of men's footwear that recently launched its first line of women's shoes. The company's Commercial Director, Marcelo Paludetto, emphasizes the highly positive outlook. "2024 has been a great year for Democrata, both in the domestic and international markets, with an expected 16% growth. BFSHOW will help solidify this and set the stage for about 15% growth in 2025, considering both domestic sales and especially the company's exports," he predicts.

Industry Thermometer
For Daniel Gewehr, Director of Via Marte, one of Brazil's leading producers of women's footwear, the expectation for BFSHOW is positive, particularly regarding the presence of retailers from São Paulo and the Northeast of Brazil. "BFSHOW's location will be key in attracting these visitors, as well as importers, due to the convenient access provided by the proximity to an international airport," Gewehr points out, adding that the company aims to increase its export share from 12% to 17% in 2025. According to him, the company's performance at the show will serve as a thermometer, with an estimated production growth of 5% to 8% by the end of 2024.

Di Valentini, a women's footwear producer based in São João Batista/SC, sees BFSHOW as an opportunity to confirm a 5% production growth for 2024, followed by an 8% increase next year. "We will be at the show in full force with our entire sales team and the complete Winter 2025 collection. I'm confident that BFSHOW will be a key step in achieving our growth targets," forecasts José Osterno Filho, the brand's Director.

Trade Show Growth
In its third edition, BFSHOW has already become the largest footwear trade show in Brazil, featuring over 11,000 square meters of exhibition space—double the size of last November's edition—at the modern Anhembi District in São Paulo. The November event is expected to attract over 10,000 national and international buyers, with importers being brought in through a joint effort by Abicalçados, NürnbergMesse Brasil, and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

Footwear Trade Show BFSHOW Announces Floor Plan with 92% of Space Sold The 3rd edition of the BFSHOW footwear trade show, organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil, has already sold 92% of its exhibition spaces. Recognized as the main footwear trade show in Brazil, the event will take place from November 11th to 13th at the Anhembi District in São Paulo, Brazil.

Haroldo Ferreira, the Executive President of Abicalçados, notes that the growth of the event and the engagement of footwear companies are reflected in the numbers achieved for this third edition. "We have over 11,000 square meters of exhibition space, compared to 5,500 square meters for the corresponding collection show held in 2023. In other words, we’ve doubled the space and will continue to grow, as both the industry and footwear retailers have recognized BFSHOW as the main business platform for the sector in Brazil," emphasizes Ferreira, adding that the previous November event featured 127 brands, while this third edition already has 238 confirmed.

Waitlist for 2025
According to João Paulo Picolo, CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, BFSHOW's success is so significant that there is already a waitlist for the Summer edition, set to take place in May 2025. “The forecast for 2024 is a 2% growth in the footwear sector, which will require retail replenishment. Expectations are high for significant deals during and following the event, with negotiations initiated at the show," Picolo predicts.

BFSHOW is the biggest meeting of footwear manufacturers and national retailers

The 3rd edition of BFSHOW, Brazil’s leading footwear trade show organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil, is generating high expectations for the national footwear industry. The event, which will take place from November 11 to 13, will bring together manufacturers responsible for 80% of the country’s production, along with thousands of Brazilian retailers and international buyers from around the world.

Haroldo Ferreira, Executive President of Abicalçados, emphasizes the positive moment for the national footwear industry and expects this to be reflected at the trade show. "This year, we expect to produce approximately 870 million pairs, an increase of over 2% compared to 2023, with growth driven by the domestic market. BFSHOW serves as a barometer for the sector and should reflect this favorable moment for domestic consumption," he projects.

Expertise
João Paulo Picolo, CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, says that the organizer, in partnership with Abicalçados, is behind the largest footwear trade show in South America, combining the company’s expertise with Abicalçados’ sector knowledge. "NürnbergMesse has brought the experience of major international events to the Brazilian footwear market, establishing the continent’s largest footwear trade show, not only in terms of business volume but also in the quality of exhibitors and buyers, all carefully selected based on recommendations, purchasing potential, and market reach," he explains.

Top retailers confirmed
One of the major brands confirmed for BFSHOW is Constance, which operates more than 280 stores across Brazil and sources its suppliers directly at the trade show through private label agreements.—where the products bear the client’s brand. Alessandra Noronha, the company’s Product Director, emphasizes that the trade show is an opportunity to see and connect with Brazil’s leading footwear and accessory suppliers, "all gathered at an event that breathes fashion, trends, and innovation." According to her, the brand's outlook is highly positive. "We want to further strengthen our relationship with our key suppliers, who are preparing their industries to meet our growing demand. We're also looking to explore opportunities to develop new suppliers for our partner portfolio," she notes.

Tatiany Lemes, Product Manager at Studio Z, one of the main footwear retailers in southern Brazil, highlights that BFSHOW is the largest national meeting between footwear suppliers and retailers. " At the trade show, all of our key partners will be gathered, greatly streamlining negotiations. In just three days, we will gain insight into the top trends in the footwear market, which will guide our purchasing decisions for the end of the year, especially for the holiday season," says Tatiany, adding that, in addition to new product launches, BFSHOW offers excellent immediate purchase opportunities to replenish stock. "With all the top manufacturers and retailers from Brazil present, as well as industry leaders, BFSHOW provides us with a detailed market overview, offering insights into consumer behavior and even the socio-economic conditions of our partners," the manager concludes. Studio Z operates 105 stores in some of Brazil’s major footwear consumer markets.

BFSHOW trade show opens accreditation for shopkeepers and importers

Launching the collections of the main Brazilian footwear brands between November 11 and 13, in the Anhembi District, in São Paulo/SP, BFSHOW has opened accreditation for shopkeepers, importers and professionals in the sector. Held by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) with the organization of NürnbergMesse Brasil, the main footwear fair in Brazil should receive more than 10 thousand visitors from all over the country and from all the continents. Accreditation can be done on this website.

The CEO of Abicalçados, Haroldo Ferreira, points out that expectations for BFSHOW are quite positive, taking into account a first half of the year with slight growth in footwear production (1.8%, according to IBGE). “The second half of the year is always more positive for the activity, and we should close the year with a productive increase of more than 2%. The fair will be the ideal moment to replenish retail for the end of the year,” the director comments.

At BFSHOW, the national and international visitor has contact with a ”real showcase of Brazilian footwear". The statement is from the CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, João Paulo Picolo, who points out that companies that account for more than 80% of national footwear production will be at the fair. " They are exhibitors from all segments, sizes, locations, and market niches. BFSHOW is an absolutely democratic trade show that truly showcases everything the largest shoe industry in the West has to offer," he remarks.

New location
Another factor that should further enhance BFSHOW is the new location, the redesigned Anhembi District, located in the strategic center of the financial capital of Latin America and at the exact intersection of its North-South and East-West axes, with easy access by car, bus and subway. “In addition, it facilitates international visitation, since Anhembi is just over 20 kilometers away from Guarulhos International Airport,” Picolo points out.

The second edition of BFSHOW, held in May, brought together more than 9 thousand national and international visitors who did business with more than 310 Brazilian footwear brands, numbers that will be surpassed in the November 2024 edition

BFSHOW Premieres New Collections for Brazil and the World

As the largest footwear producer in the Western Hemisphere, with approximately 870 million pairs manufactured annually, Brazil's footwear industry is set to gather for the 3rd edition of BFSHOW. Organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil, this major industry event will take place from November 11 to 13 at the Anhembi District in São Paulo/Brazil, showcasing new collections from hundreds of exhibitors to buyers from around the globe.

Abicalçados' Relationship and Business Manager, Letícia Sperb Masselli, highlighted the event's growth in both space and the number of participating brands. The previous edition in São Paulo attracted 318 exhibitors and more than 9,000 buyers from Brazil and across the continents—a figure expected to rise in November. "For many years, Brazil lacked an international trade show that truly represented the scale of the Western Hemisphere's biggest footwear industry. The BFSHOW is more than just a business-focused trade show; it is our meeting point with the world, where all the leading brands from various segments, sizes, and regions of Brazil will be represented," Masselli emphasized, adding that the event will feature collections from brands responsible for around 80% of the national production.

NürnbergMesse Brasil's Head of New Business, Rico Azeredo, shared that the organizer is preparing a "memorable" event for the national footwear sector, rekindling the nostalgia of the grand trade shows that once took place in São Paulo. "The BFSHOW will reflect the excellence, structure, and quality of Brazil's footwear sector for our hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors," Azeredo noted.

"Key Event on the Calendar"
For Ramarim, a footwear producer from Nova Hartz, Rio Grande do Sul, participating in BFSHOW is crucial for fostering new business relationships and strengthening connections with key industry players worldwide. "We are convinced that by participating, Ramarim can better communicate our values and objectives, enhance our brand visibility, and build stronger partnerships," said the group's vice president, Marçal Müller. According to him, BFSHOW, as "the meeting point for Brazilian footwear and the world," will be where the company launches its collections for the upcoming season. "Additionally, we will hold our national sales convention prior to the trade show, as BFSHOW has become the main event on our calendar, bringing together sales representatives from all the states where we operate," Müller added.

Recognizing BFSHOW's relevance as the leading Brazilian trade show for launches, Pegada, a footwear manufacturer from Dois Irmãos, Rio Grande do Sul, will present its entire collection at the event. The company also plans to hold its national sales convention alongside the trade show. According to Pegada’s director, Astor Ranft, BFSHOW is a vital meeting point for manufacturers, distributors, and retailers in the footwear sector. "By bringing everyone together in one event, the trade show facilitates networking, fosters new commercial partnerships, and showcases the latest market trends. BFSHOW is a platform that enhances brand visibility and allows companies to reach new markets both nationally and internationally," Ranft highlighted, adding that BFSHOW strengthens the Brazilian footwear industry. "São Paulo’s selection as the host city also amplifies the reach of participating brands, given its proximity to major consumer centers and easy access for international buyers, further positioning Brazil as a global player in the footwear sector," he concluded.

Launches and Positive Expectations
Representing the footwear hub of Nova Serrana, Minas Gerais, Lynd's director, Ronaldo Lacerda, expressed high expectations for BFSHOW. "BFSHOW is an iconic event for Brazilian footwear trade shows, the largest in terms of exhibiting brands and significance. We are confident that Brazilian and international buyers will attend this third edition," Lacerda projected, noting that during the event organized by Abicalçados, the sector gathers to observe trends, conduct business, and reflect on the industry’s direction in the country. "This is an international trade show, a showcase that highlights our footwear and excellence to the world. We will bring 100% of our 2025 launches to the trade show," Lacerda added. He pointed out that while the domestic Brazilian market is essential, exports drive growth as there are many untapped or expandable markets. "That's why BFSHOW plays such a fundamental role, connecting us with the world and bringing business opportunities and visibility to our industry," he concluded.

Kidy, a children's footwear manufacturer from Birigui, São Paulo, will also be present at BFSHOW. "We have always been strong participants in trade shows focused on business, launches, and innovation. There was a significant gap without an internationally relevant trade show in São Paulo, with all its logistical and structural advantages, and we were in need of an event of this level to showcase our products," said the company's national sales manager, Rafael Menezes. According to him, Kidy is confident that once again the trade show will drive business at a time when the company is expanding its customer base both domestically and internationally. "At the 3rd edition of BFSHOW, we will reveal our collections for the season to Brazilian retailers and international buyers. The May edition in São Paulo yielded excellent results. More than just business expectations, BFSHOW allow us to strengthen relationships with buyers from Brazil and around the world, opening new markets and perspectives for the company," Menezes added.

Post-Show Impact
The quality of buyers attending BFSHOW is another standout feature of the event. Leveraging Abicalçados' expertise in inviting key national and international players, the trade show is known for generating results during and after the event in what is referred to as the "post-show." "BFSHOW positions itself as Brazil's premier footwear trade show, with a strong structure that not only generates business but also provides national and international visibility for its exhibitors," evaluated Dilly Sports' marketing manager, Rafael Russo, whose company manufactures the brands West Coast and Mormaii. According to him, previous events demonstrated significant business activity following the trade show, with negotiations initiated at the event. "I also believe that the fact that BFSHOW is held in São Paulo facilitates attendance by buyers from across Brazil and major world markets due to logistical and cost advantages," Russo concluded, hinting that the company will launch all its collections at BFSHOW.

Market
The 3rd edition of BFSHOW comes at a time when Brazil's footwear industry is on a recovery path, preparing for growth of 9% to 22% in 2024, following a production downturn in 2023.

To secure your spot at BFSHOW, visitors can register on the website to receive first-hand updates about the opening of accreditation at https://bfshow.com.br/visitante/. open.

BFSHOW should confirm positive outlook of footwear sector

Considered the main footwear trade show in Brazil, BFSHOW, which takes place in the Anhembi District, in São Paulo/Brazil, on November 11-13, has been generating good expectations for the national footwear sector. According to the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), which promotes the exhibition with the organization of NürnbergMesse Brasil, footwear production increased by 2.7% between January and May, compared to the same period last year. For the year, the growth estimated by the entity is over 2% and will be driven, above all, by the domestic market, which accounts for more than 85% of sales in the sector.

The CEO of Abicalçados, Haroldo Ferreira, says that, despite the instabilities, especially in the international scenario, the footwear industry is growing, with fundamental support from domestic consumption, which should exceed 800 million pairs in 2024, in a growth that can reach more than 3% when compared to 2023. "BFSHOW, once again, will be instrumental in confirming this positive expectation. For the trade show, the presence of large networks of the national and also international market is expected, and they will have the opportunity to supply their stores in an exhibition that presents collections of companies that account for more than 80% of national footwear production”, highlights the director, adding that, at BFSHOW, exhibitors from all segments, sizes and footwear poles are expected. “The diversity of footwear found at the trade show is certainly the biggest in Brazil. At BFSHOW, buyers will be in touch with a fairly complete range of the biggest shoe industry in the west. The expectation, given the need to supply stores after a positive first half of the year, is the best possible”, projects the executive.

Strategic Location
The CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, João Paulo Picolo, points out that the strategic location of BFSHOW, in the Anhembi District, in the financial capital of Latin America, also favors the presence of major national and international players from all regions of Brazil and the world. "Visitation is a great differential of BFSHOW, because the trade show takes place in a privileged place not only for the structure of international airports, but also for all the convenience of a hotel chain that has more than 7 thousand apartments within a 5 kilometers radius from our venues, as well as a wide choice of restaurants, culture and entertainment”, he evaluates.

Considered the main event center in Latin America, the traditional Anhembi District recently underwent a renovation that transformed its more than 64 thousand meters of exhibition area into one of the most functional and modern in the world, with living areas, green space and ample parking.

Largest footwear fair in Brazil, BFSHOW moves the sector

The 2nd edition of the BFSHOW fair, which takes place between May 21st and 23rd, at the Transamerica Expo Center, in São Paulo/SP, brings great expectations to the national footwear sector. The largest footwear fair in the country, the fair will bring together more than 300 brands that should receive an estimated visitation of more than 10 thousand people, from Brazil and abroad. The event is a realization of the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with NürnbergMesse Brasil,

Good business expectations are driven primarily by three factors. Abicalçados' estimate of domestic market growth between 2.4% and 3.8% throughout 2024, and the fact that it is the only footwear fair on the period immediately after Mother's Day, the main national date for footwear retail, and for launching summer collections, responsible for 70% of the industry's sales in the sector. In the first edition, held in November last year, there were more than R$ 315 million in business with the foreign market alone. This year, the value should be exceeded by the listed factors. "Expectations are quite positive. We are feeling the industry and retail excited for the event and very willing to make the wheel turn again, especially due to the crisis generated by the climate catastrophe in Rio Grande do Sul”, comments the executive president of Abicalçados, Haroldo Ferreira. According to him, the fair, which was born focused on the desires of the sector's market, even heard from companies affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul, who chose to participate in the fair even in the midst of difficulties as a way to generate business and preserve jobs. “We have cases of Gaucho companies that canceled the participation and uncanceled it, because they understood the importance of the event at this time”, he concludes.

The CEO of NürnbergMesse Brasil, João Paulo Picolo, highlights the growth of the event, which in its second edition already became the main one for the footwear sector in the country. "It is a reason for pride for NürnbergMesse Brasil to be part of this ambitious project by Abicalçados, which has been uniting the footwear industry in Brazil", he highlights.

Optimistic exhibitors
One of the companies that are confirmed at BFSHOW is Grendene. The commercial director of the footwear company, Paulo Barth, points out that expectations for the fair are quite positive. “We believe that we will have a very significant number of customers visiting the fair, both from the domestic market and from the foreign market”, he predicts. According to him, the show, also due to the fact that it has confirmed large suppliers, should attract the attention of the main players in the market, being a relevant opportunity for the presentation of Summer collections, the most important one for Grendene. “The second semester is historically our most representative semester and we have a very positive expectation for the business we will carry out during BFSHOW”, highlights the director, adding that, in addition to the hot season's collections, the company will offer high-turnover products for prompt delivery.

With confirmed presence at BFSHOW, Petite Jolie is another company that will launch its summer products at the footwear fair held by Abicalçados. “We need to be where the customers are and our expectation is that they will be, largely, at the BFSHOW. In addition, participating in this moment, in which we have the possibility of seeing a new great fair performing in the city of São Paulo is very important for our visibility”, comments the National Commercial Manager of Petite Jolie, Ruy Ferreira. For BFSHOW, the shoemaker will take the entire team of regional representatives to welcome the shopkeepers. “The fair marks the presentation of the brand's Summer I collection, so the client will find all the novelties related to trends and colors of the most joyful season of the year,” says the director.

International presence
From the foreign market, at least 98 international groups from 31 countries are confirmed at BFSHOW, through the Brazilian Footwear Buyer Project, a program to support footwear exports maintained by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), and the Buyer Program, carried out by BFSHOW. Significant volume is expected with buyers from Argentina, Bolivia, Botswana, Chile, Colombia , Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Germany, Guatemala, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mozambique, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Suriname, Tanzania, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Spain, United States and Uruguay.

During the BFSHOW, in addition to the buyers brought in a joint effort between Abicalçados, ApexBrasil and NürnbergMesse Brasil, the national footwear will be appreciated by thousands of other foreign visitors who will come on their own. According to NürnbergMesse Brasil, there are already more than 60 accredited countries.

Sustainable event
The Brazilian footwear show could not ignore sustainability, a theme in which the national industry of the sector is an international reference. During the fair, initiatives ranging from the correct disposal of production waste and the use of recycled materials such as coconut and bamboo, to productions made 100% with solar energy, will be present. According to NürnbergMesse Brasil, the estimate is to give the environmentally correct destination to tens of tons of waste that will be generated within the pavilions of the Transamerica Expo Center.

Even before becoming a law in the state of São Paulo, NürnbergMesse Brasil was a pioneer in the country in promoting the correct disposal of waste from its trade fairs. A project that begun in 2023, which supports recycling cooperatives and the circular economy. In the seven major exhibitions promoted by the company last year, 107 tons of garbage were allocated for recycling. Through the initiative, everything is recycled within the fair, except organic materials. They are reused from dry waste from stands and restaurants to wood, carpet, paper, signage, among others.

Solidarity with RS
Since the beginning of May, the floods in Rio Grande do Sul have generated a wave of solidarity. With the aim of supporting people affected by the climate catastrophe, BFSHOW will have donation collection points for those affected, not only in May, but also in its November edition, also in São Paulo. In addition, the organization has already been helping the affected companies and making donations of water, mattresses and cleaning kits and is a supporter of the Next Steps RS Movement, carried out by Abicalçados and entities in the footwear production chain. The action will raise financial resources that will be directed to the restructuring of the living conditions of the impacted footwear families.

BFSHOW confirms collective stands of different footwear poles

With companies of all sizes, niches and Brazilian footwear poles, the 2nd edition of BFSHOW, which takes place between May 21st and 23rd, at the Transamerica Expo Center, in São Paulo/SP, already has more than 270 confirmed brands that account for about 80% of the footwear industry's annual production (over 900 million pairs). The largest national fair in the sector has its accreditation open on the website www.bfshow.com.br, where the list of confirmed brands is also available.

At the same time that it brings confirmed giants, such as Alpargatas, Calçados Beira Rio, Grendene and Vulcabras, the fair will have micro and small companies with great potential for growth in collective spaces. One of those already confirmed is the Estação Moda RS, carried out by the Brazilian Service for Support to Micro and Small Companies in the State (Sebrae/RS). In total, 15 Gaucho footwear brands from different segments and niches are already confirmed. The Regional Manager of Sebrae Sinos, Caí and Paranhana, Marco Copetti, points out that participation generates good expectations. “The presence of these companies in an event the size of BFSHOW, more than generating business, helps in the adoption of development strategies, in terms of trends, prices, products, among other attributes,” he says. According to him, BFSHOW is aligned with the need to renew and strengthen the trade fair segment, which is very relevant to the activity.

The largest producer of men's shoes, the Franca/SP pole has also reserved its collective space. Today with 10 confirmed companies, the footwear from Franca will be at BFSHOW. The president of the Union of Footwear Industries of Franca (Sindifranca), João Carlos Brigagão, points out that the exhibition is the “realization of an old dream of the sector”. “The largest domestic industry outside Asia needed to have its own trade fair, focused on exactly what matters most: good domestic and international business,” he says. According to him, the move of the exhibition to São Paulo, “the heart of Latin America”, brings great expectations for the exhibiting companies. "Our expectations are high and we have no doubt that they will be exceeded,” concludes Brigagão.

Industry advocacy
In addition to the differential of being a fair totally focused on business, with transparency and focus on the well-being of exhibitors and shopkeepers, BFSHOW is a tool in defense of the activity, since the resources generated by the Ffair will be reinvested in sector development actions through its class association. "Abicalçados acts in defense of the sector and this was the case in the first edition, in Porto Alegre/RS, when we received great feedback. Naturally, the consolidation of this event as the main sector fair is unquestionable and expectations are even higher for the next edition, in São Paulo”, comments the president of the Union of the Jaú Footwear Industry (Sindicalçados Jaú), Luis Felipe Rodomonte de Souza. For the director, within a challenging context that Brazilian footwear is going through, participation in BFSHOW becomes even more important for companies to find new channels of relationship with the market. Currently, eight companies are confirmed in the Jaú collective.

Nova Serrana stepping up
The second edition of BFSHOW will have a space dedicated to Nova Serrana Fair and Fashion, which already has 37 brands of the footwear pole of Nova Serrana confirmed in more than 700sqm. Promoted by the Intermunicipal Union of Footwear Industries of Nova Serrana (Sindinova), the space provides a showcase for the quality and diversity of products manufactured in the region. “With its expertise recognized in the national and international scene, companies in Nova Serrana have the opportunity to exhibit their collections and boost business,” said Ronaldo Lacerda, president of Sindinova. According to him, the fact that the fair is held by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with NürnbergMesse Brasil, guarantees the greater scope of the poles represented in the event, which does not occur in regionalized fairs. “The fair's move to São Paulo will certainly generate a lot of business, because BFSHOW will be strengthened by its proximity to the largest consumer market for footwear in Brazil, which is in the Southeast region,” projects the director, stressing that BFSHOW is the legitimate “win-win” process, since it will be fundamental for exhibitors and will also facilitate the purchase by Brazilian retailers and importers.

Second edition
After a successful first edition, in Porto Alegre / RS, BFSHOW moves to São Paulo due to a market need. The fair was created by the market and with full guidance to its wishes. Thus, the Abicalçados Fair Committee decided to move the event to São Paulo due to the greater logistical ease for the presence of national and international buyers.

According to Abicalçados, expectations are quite positive, taking into account that the BFSHOW in May will present Spring-Summer collections, which represent more than 70% of sales in the national footwear industry.

Buyers look for trends and good deals at the 2nd edition of BFSHOW

With less than a month to go until the 2nd BFSHOW, held by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with NürnbergMesse Brasil, the meeting consolidates itself in the market as the largest footwear fair in Brazil and generates expectation among confirmed visitors. With 270 brands already confirmed and a growth of more than 100% in the exhibition area and the confirmed presence of the main footwear market players in Brazil, BFSHOW expects to receive 10 thousand national and international buyers between May 21st and 23rd, at the Transamerica Expo Center, in São Paulo (SP). In this edition, it will be possible to know firsthand the new releases of the Spring-Summer 2025 collections of the Brazilian footwear sector.

This is the main expectation of the designer Gustavo Silva, from Serafine, from Minas Gerais. The clothing brand is in its third shoe collection and takes advantage of BFSHOW to meet new suppliers and what will be trending for the next season. “I want to see the novelties with regard to materials, soles and colors. It is important for us to select partners and suppliers that are aligned with the trends of our clothing collection. The first edition of the fair was excellent for us, as we were looking for important suppliers. The range offered by BFSHOW is excellent and we expect that in São Paulo this volume of options will be even greater and we will find new suppliers for the brand”.

Another buyer confirmed for the event in São Paulo is Humberto Costa, representative of Grupo Planeta Jeans, a chain of six stores in Paraná. "We hope not only to find the trends for the summer, but also to strengthen the relationship between shopkeeper and factory. The proximity offered by BFSHOW also guarantees us the possibility of doing new business, finding other manufacturers, other products and allowing us to make good deals also in our stores.” Same goal as Mohamad Abdul Majid, from the importer Sad Trading, from Mozambique. “The fair offers networking, new business and partnerships opportunities, in addition to putting on display the new trends for the summer - the next collection to be marketed in Brazil and also in Mozambique.”

The fair has been generating high expectations to visitors from all over Brazil. "Sao Paulo will be a great stage. A place where we will find representatives, manufacturers, importers, exporters and shopkeepers all in one place. We will definitely make great purchases and good deals and thus keep our stores more and more updated with new trends in the footwear market. We are sure that this will be the biggest fair of all time and we will together make this the best year for the footwear sector”, celebrates Francisco Aldemir Bezerra de Souza, commercial director of Planeta Calçados - chain with 8 stores present in the cities of Juazeiro do Norte, Crato, Barbalha, Iguatu, Brejo Santo -, and director of Síndilojas in Juazeiro do Norte (CE).

The business and Relationship Manager of the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), Letícia Sperb Masselli, points out that BFSHOW is also an international meeting point for the footwear sector. “The fifth largest footwear industry in the world, the most sustainable among its competitors, has a great showcase at the fair. It is an unmissable event, in which we will have more than 80% of the national footwear production presenting their collections for the hottest season of the year. We are sure that it will be a success that will give a spirit injection to the activity”, she points out.

One of the people responsible for the fair, Ricardo Azeredo, Head of New Business at NürnbergMesse Brasil, highlights the growth of the event. "BFSHOW has doubled in size in this edition, reinforcing the importance of this event for the Brazilian footwear sector. We are preparing a high standard fair to welcome the expected 10 thousand visitors, who are looking for the best products to offer to national and international consumers. Buyers will have an even better experience in this edition.”

Buyer Program
Success in the first edition, the Buyer Program is also back. An initiative of BFSHOW, which has the support of ApexBrasil within the scope of international buyers, the action seeks to encourage business between national and international buyers and exhibitors at the fair. In 2023, the action took to BFSHOW buyers from Brazil and countries such as Australia, Bolivia, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Spain, United States, Portugal, Russia, United Kingdom, among others.

International buyer participating in the program, Emma Damas Malamsha, from Apri Arch Fashion Ltd, importer and distributor of footwear from Tanzania, Africa, highlights that BFSHOW is an important exhibition for the sector. "Today, our main strategic partner is China, but at BFSHOW we have discovered other suppliers with potential, with which we can partner and do business. There is a lot of collaboration in the sector and the fair is a great opportunity to get to know each other”, she says.

Strengthening ties at BFSHOW is also the goal of Grupo Real Calçados, a chain founded in Bahia with more than 100 stores throughout Brazil. “It is a way to interact with suppliers and be closer to see what offers, new releases, novelties and trends are coming. We create bonds there because when we bet on a product, we establish a connection with the supplier themselves, which gives us support and confidence”, says director Ivan Nunes Andrade Filho.

In its first edition, BFSHOW received international buyers from five continents who generated more than R$ 315 million in business with the international market.
