In 1970, at the back of their house, Mr. Anthony and Mrs. Maristela started a small production of women's collegiate footwear, starting Calçados Wagner. In 1980 Valério and Vagner started managing the company, thus starting the production of children's shoes, 3 years later they inaugurated new headquarters, where the company remained for 29 years. In 1988 the brand Batatinha was born, specializing and directing all production for children's shoes. In 2008 the partner Vagner left the company, beginning a new phase in the company's history. Currently the company has 150 direct employees and about 60 indirect, producing approximately 600,000 pairs per year.
