Footwear fair presents novelties for the "Running Era” fashion

New trend captivates millions and has a significant impact on the sports shoe market

Running is the sport of the moment. The so-called “Running Era” has gained prominence on social networks and has involved thousands of people of different ages in the movement. Data prove this trend: according to the Brazilian Association of Street Running (ABCR), interest in the sport has grown in Brazil. In 2023, 150 thousand street races were held and there was a 13% increase in the number of participants compared to the previous year. The survey estimates that today there are 13 million runners in the country.

This trend is not only limited to the search for an active lifestyle and connected with urban trends, but mainly by raising awareness of the impacts on the health and well-being of practitioners. BFSHOW, the largest footwear fair in Brazil, held for the first time in São Paulo, presented the novelties and technologies for running shoes. The event began on Tuesday (May 21st) and will run until Thursday (May 23rd), at the Transamerica Expo Center.

Among the novelties is the new release of Olympikus, a Vulcabras brand, the Olympikus Corre Supra. The model is the first super sneaker made in Brazil, which combines the most modern in technology and innovation in the world to democratize the Brazilian consumer's access to high performance sneakers.

The model has an unprecedented continuous carbon fiber plate, the Carbon G via Toray. Coated with liquid graphene, the material provides plate performance with 3 times greater propulsion and is 5 times more resistant when compared to short fibers. The midsole and insole are produced with the exclusive NT-X foam. The result is a lightweight shoe, which adheres to both dry and wet ground, giving more stability to the run. Despite being a high-performance sneaker, the brand reinforces that it caters to both professional and amateur runners.

In addition to the Vulcabras group's brand, Rep-play presented at the BFSHOW its new collection “Oo Esporte Nos Move” (Sport Moves Us), aimed at those who run in a lighter way, under 10 km. The new sneakers in the collection have an EVA sole, value the comfort of the athlete and are breathable. “Our shoes are super light and great for those who are starting to run,” says Rodrigo Lacerda, Commercial Manager of the brand.

Lacerda also commented about the new era of the race: “We have noticed a much greater movement in the search for sports shoes over recent years because of this new trend and this has resulted in the growth of the company,” he celebrates.
